What track(s) brought you to Trance Music?
What track(s) brought you to Trance?
Ah, this one again.
Trance came to me.
Can't remember any more, I'm getting old.
oh yea..we all r gettin ol , sarcastic, negative and cynic.. LOL
doop - doop. all versions.
Honestly, it was initially the old mp3.com.
Stuff like:
t r a n c e [] c o n t r o l- Crystal Dreams
t r a n c e [] c o n t r o l- Deep Vibrations
t r a n c e [] c o n t r o l- Gothenburg Sound
Dynamic - Destination Skyline
Lightworks - Fields of Space
Mckey Traxx - All Systems Go
Mckey Traxx - Unity of Earth
Mind Reflection - Turn
Toby Emerson - Hydrosphere
Toby Emerson - Raindrops
from there, I discovered TA and started downloading tracks from the Amateur Producer's forum (Echano, Al Azar, etc.), and THEN discovered the big names (Tiesto, PvD, etc.)
Honestly, I still think that the amateur stuff was typically better. I don't listen to much trance anymore, but the amateur stuff I do hear these days rarely impresses me.
union jack - three full moons or what the hell the name was (hd not connected) i think was the first trance track i ever heard.

Greece 2000, For An Angel, Cafe Del Mar, Insomnia... Tranceport 1, Oakenfold's NY GU, stuff like that.
And what tracks turned me off trance? Anything by Richard Durand, Cosmic Gate, Marcus Schossow, all this cliche vocal songs, remakes of all the '99 classics, etc.
PVD - For an angel
Robert miles - children

Armin van Buuren - Communication
When I downloaded music off of P2P, I came across this song labeled as "THE BEST GODDAMN RAVE SONG". I downloaded that song and it was what got me into EDM. I later discovered the song was Airscape - L'Esperanza (Rising Star Remix)
Other songs that got me into EDM are:
Robert Miles - Children
Darude - Sandstorm
Sean Walsh - Time Lapse (Faraway Project Remix)
Gwill Morris - Forme (Leama & Moor Remix)
Push - The Legacy
Subsunday - So Good
Von and Koy - The Guest (pacific wave mix) (I think that's what its called)

| Originally posted by Trance-MB For me a bit longer, my first Trance complitation I bought is from '94, so that would be about 16 years. I guess I love trance even a lot longer, it just wasn't called trance back then, but House, Techno or Euro House. E.g. Culture Beat - I like you 1990, Cappella - Everybody 1991, Culture Beat - No Deeper Meaning 1991. The melodies played with piano's and synths of those tracks are similar to the ones used in trance later. I always looked out for remixes and instrumental versions without the vocals, (but I liked the vocals too.) You still probably are getting old, you just maybe started listening trance a bit later |
