lol you got home before us

WTF

Posted by Elendil on Apr-28-2009 12:04:

I'm so utterly depressed that I didn't hear that Nathan set. One on guitar hero was epic, no doubt I would have been air smashing the red yellow blue and greens massively.

Nirvana definitely got some love - Dive was on as well, but I think less people noticed I was digging it.

Heard a lot of decent tunes, but so many that I hear on a pretty usual basis, so if anything it was just like being at home for the weekend. Nothing wrong with that at all - left plenty of time to talk with new people.

Overall I had an absolute blast. So many moments of hilarity. Michael - you must have been feeling the plastic pain after the flow of drinks. Next ones are on me

Was really nice meeting so many TA's. Looking forward to the next one of these. Really wish I could have stayed past 12 30, but I came home to my little boy being up and asking me to turn on the house music (rediculous that a 2 year old somehow wants to dance when I'm ready for bed at 1:30). Sadly, he also woke up all too early.

Jack rocks! lol.

It was a fun night. We got in around 8 when everyone was finishing up their meals.
Quickly drinks started flowing and everything was on WTF overdrive.
The music was fun, people were always singing along and dancing.
The bar was really cute. Tiny but it worked. Sucks that there wasnt sound on the patio (although I understand why) and that the speakers inside were pretty bad.
Nice meeting a few new faces, seeing lots of familiar faces, and the non-stop shenanigans with friends.
I dont know when we left, but we walked home and got in around 3. lol... that was a disaster on its own.

Im glad I had a 'doctors appointment' this morning so that I could sleep in a couple extra hours.

Props to everyone involved in the planning and all the DJs that came out. I expect a repeat soon.

Messy drunk photos to be uploaded this evening.

good times, nice seeing some familiar faces, and talking to some new ones.

highlight(s) of the night was hearing some decent mixes pulled off! nathan had a couple good ones, as did dekoze.

Definitely a good time, great weather.
Nothin else I'd rather do on a Monday night, good to see everyone in some real light too haha, it was a fun and happy atmosphere, definitely would go to it again

lol @ Simon in that video, at that point in the night things got very messy...

overall the party was a huge success, it started off almost awkward because of the patio being open... although we were at capacity by 9pm everyone was spread around and the party wasn't all that "cohesive"...

but around 10:30-11 they closed the patio and that's when I'd say the party went into "magic mode" lol I'm not 100% sure who set the party off, but I'm leaning towards giving the credit to baby joel/ jonny white...

songs like:

def leopard - pour some sugar on me (baby joel)
notorious big - hypnotize (baby joel)
mariah carey - emotion (baby joel)
dr dre - let's get high (baby joel)
michael jackson - thriller (jonny white)
billy ocean - caribbean queen (jonny white)
phil collins - billy don't you lose my number (jonny white)

the bar was LOSING it at this point (this was also when I saw K-OS showing up for a pint hah)... the vibe was out of this world and everyone was just laughing/singing and generally slamming drinks hah I'd say from 11-1 the party coasted into one of the most amazing vibes I've ever experienced in my life... wow (wtf)

some other memorable songs played throughout the night:

glenn frey - you belong to the city (jon jon)
fleetwood mac - everywhere (baby joel)
the beatles - revolution (simon jain)
the jackson 5 - abc 123 (dekoze)
ottawan - hands up (lee osborne)
fresh prince - summertime (jon jon)
arrested development - everyday people (nathan barato)
tina turner - we don't need another hero (steph)
talk talk - life is what you make it (jon jon)
bon jovi - wanted dead or alive (jon jon)
garth brooks - i've got friends in low places (simon jain)
metallica - one (nathan barato)
cypress hill - insane in the brain (sydney blu)
kelly clarkson - since you've been gone (steph)
journey - don't stop believing (brad copeland)
white snake - here I go again (simon jain)
toto - africa (steph)
micheal jackson - beat it (jonny white)
montell jordan - this is how we do it (jon jon)
mark morrison - return of the mack (steph)
depeche mode - enjoy the silence (apparently played 3 times lol)
tears for fears - everybody wants to rule the world (jon jon)
quiet riot - cum on feel the noize (simon jain)
dj zebra - come closer (baby joel)
midnight star - the midas touch (baby joel)
george michael - freedom (jon jon)
nirvana - in bloom (nathan barato)
