The Man Behind Sasha : Charlie May

If you know Sasha, you know Charlie May [a]. The British producer is well known for being one half of pioneering progressive house duo Spooky, but it is probably Mays collaborations with Sasha in the studio that are his most famous productions never to have been fully attributed to him.
Scorchio, Xpander, Airdrawndagger, Involver - most of Sashas biggest chart smashing releases post 1998 have involved Charlie Mays production prowess on some level, but like many studio partners to the stars, his input has remained rather anonymous.
Not anymore, however. Charlie May is ready to step out of the shadows with his first real solo work.
With a fresh arsenal of new music created under the Spooky guise as well as a few solo productions, 2009 promises to be a landmark year for May with the planned launch of his own Charlie May label and then a subsequent solo artist album.
Demons Among Us on Polefolders La Tour label is exactly the sort of cinematic-style club production that will resonate with fans of Charlies work. Forging together multi-textured layers of precision crafted sonics, the overall vibe is one of minimized, robotic-funk that provides the foundations for a killer shimmering melody to do its joyous damage
Not My Cat is a brooding fusion of bubbling acid, deep bass tones and low-down jacking rhythms that treads a line between early door grooves and late night moods. Smartly arranged to allow plenty of space for the many elements to work their way in to the mix and build in subtle intensity that holds throughout.
Its exciting to finally see Charlie May boldly stride towards the future all on his own. It makes you wonder why he never took the initiative before.
yeah the newies are pretty cool
Who's Sasha?

charlie may is sasha (as far as the studio goes)
whoever wrote that blurb is an idiot, Charlie May "stepped out of the shadows" (lol) LONG ago and has been releasing solo work for over a decade.
Saying Charlie May is the man behind Sasha is like saying Q is the man behind James Bond.

Apparently the stuff that charlie's got coming up is amazing. I was told by someone who's taste is good.
If you like that sound then Pole Folder's really been going well lately. I saw him the other week almost sober and had one of the best nights I've had out in ages.
yay for the new Charlie May!
