ame are very creative. they definitely have a mastery of the art of songwriting, not just track-making.

not sure that i would play these though

What does that mean? Yea their music isnt necessarily club friendly. But there's such a slew of club-oriented track that music like this is a breath of fresh air in my opinion.

When I hear Ame I think outdoor, open air, atmosphere, stars, storms

When I hear Ame I think of Ame - Tonight (Dub)

i mean they are good at making very memorable, musical pieces, not just tracks to keep people buying drinks or dancing at clubs. (though they can do that as well)

their records tend to have a lot of personality, basically.

Exactly my feeling. I'd never play that out. Talk about getting weird looks.

Actually, the less likely a track will keep people dancing, the more likely the track will get them to buy drinks.

that's clever reasoning (i chuckled), but both are epiphenomena of 'having a good time', and i guess that's more what i was referring to.

gonna go out on a limb and say that the reason Rej got so big compared ot the other Ame with a carrot over the A tracks is because it had a kick drum with some balls to it

may be part of it, but other tracks like 'hydraulic dog' and 'engoli' are really similar to rej. in my opinion it comes down to a few things: 1.) right place, right time. the track came just as the whole micro thing was boiling over and was played by everyone and their grandmother in ibiza and throughout that summer, and their essential mix came at the right time. 2.) it's just fucking memorable and easy to spot - haunting melody.

other tracks like 'enoi' are more furious but just not memorable like rej.

I'm a fan of enoi/balandine, I own it...I dont know that its more furious than reg though from an aggression standpoint. Definitely darker though

Hydrolic Dog is so sex.

As for this, I would play it.
