Recommend me Some PC Games PLZ

So my new computer arrived in the mail on Wednesday and I've been enjoying it ever since. But I realized that now that I have such a sick computer, I can finally play computer games again. Problem is, I've been out of the video game loop, big time. So I was wondering if anybody here can recommend some more recent games to have come out.

Favorite type of PC games are first person shooters, but I would also love to play a good 3rd person action/adventure game and maybe an RPG if the learning curve isn't too steep.

Fallout 3 is also a fantastic game, Bioshock too.

Shit I could swear I thought it was a game that came out pretty recently. I was so sure I read about it and was excited at the time! I guess I was thinking of something else.
