wipe all surfaces with an all-purpose cleaner (this includes anything hanging on the wall) and prepare to be disgusted

perhaps buy a few of those air fresheners that release fragrance into the air every 20 mins or something

for couches and carpets, use Febreeze

Yeah, if you're going the cover-up route, keep in mind that cigarette smoke/smell tends to linger to fabrics the most, so lampshades, couches, drapes, rugs, etc. should all be sprayed down because those are what's retaining the smell.
