The reviews for this on Amazon don't make it out to be the best:
"The book is good but not for begginers. It will teach you how to use vst plugins mostly which is very important but, I gave it one star only because the Cds are stored in a really stupid way, uncoverd and face down to the rough surface of internal side of the book hardcover. The result is, all the dvds are totally scratched and three are damaged. the book is expensive, couldn't they pack it in some plastic."
"The title "The trance experience" doesn't matter really because you can apply to other dance styles, but don't expect to learn with this book all the "know how" about producing music, is more some lessons to use Waves plug-ins to mastering a song. You can find better tutorials in a lot of computer music magazines."
I got this a while back - four of the DVDs were unreadable, I had to get Waves to send me new versions of them. All in all though, this contains just one song - three remixes of the same song, but still only the one song. You're only going to learn as much as this one song is relevant to what you're trying to do.

Is this the thing where you get like project files and stuff ?
If so i remember the project file crashing my whole system.
I did this a long time ago, I thought it was a good lesson, doesn't teach u everything but, it gave me a little boost with tips and all. When I did it, I used the book more than the dvd's to be honest.
Yes, you get the project files. They have the different versions of each of the songs, for example the kicks and basses as separate tracks but everything else bounced down to audio. This way you can run the thing in real time and focus on a particular area.
But yeah, same as Lucidity, I got more out of the book than the actual session files. He provides good explanations of why he did things in certain ways.
