Deadliest Catch
Anyone else watch this? New episode on tonight. Last week's episode was incredible, chronicling the search and rescue/recovery of 4 out of the 11 men of the F/V Katmai that sank late last year. The survivors clung to a small life raft for 18 hours through the night in the middle of 20+ ft seas in the Bearing Sea. Pretty chilling stuff.
I did see this episode, but seriously? There are like 5 more threads on this show.
I love it. Those guys and Green Berets are real men.

(As a side note, I'm really not into Trance per se anymore. Gave most of it up a few years ago. See my mix in my sig.)
This show fucking sucks, sorry. Lame male-slanted reality television, that's all it is.
No offense (lol), I just really hate this show and others of it's ilk.
Yeah, I'll admit there have been a ton of knock offs like Ice Road Truckers and that logging show, but I still say none come close to the original.
discovery should make a show about the dudes that clean the porto potties after massive shows.
much more dangerous imo.
they could call it shit, like deadliest catch.

and how is deadliest catch any better?
at least mike rowe does something different every week.
unless you are on lithium and a total zombie, i do not get the entertainment value.

Not that anyone will really give two shits about this - but I was on shift during the initial mayday sent out via HF radio. Lots of times Discovery (or any station) can exaggerate with what really happens...and sadly there were easily 60 to 90kt easterlies where the boat sank. Waves from the Buoys around there ranged anywhere from 13 ft (lee side of an island to the west) and over 30 ft near the initial sinking. First image is just a simple loop of satellite and the low center...some hurricanes and typhoons don't get as deep as this...and it is over some cold waters. Second image is just low-resolution model winds of the general time frame.
