Famous Canadian you have probably never heard of

So tonight i met some guy named Dashan (his chinese name). He lives 5 mins from my parents house where i grew up in aurora. He is the most famous foreigner in China and apparently identifiable by 80% of all chinese (1 billion people). He is a tv personality fluent in mandarin and is a comedian. Go figure!

there are quite a few famous hong kong tv/radio personalities that now reside in canada (vancouver or toronto... probably because fairchild tv is calls both cities home).

Mark Rowswell (Dashan) is fcuking huge in China. I always admired him. Over a decade ago, when I studied Cantonese, I wanted to live in China and be the most famous gwai lo, but this guy takes the cake and beat me to it.

CBC actually did a biography on this guy during the Beijing Olympics

Im in a club in Beijing and the owner introduces me "to a guy from my town". He meant Toronto but he really was from my town hahah. So theres my random meeting with a celebrity that ive never heard of whos from my home town story.
