And also this.............

http://www.djhero.com/

Seriously, it is so fucking cringeworthy it is sickening.

Pretty soon, every 12 year old on the planet will be strutting about cupping one hand to their ear and making that stupid scratch motion with their hand as if to say.........."yeaaaah!!! I AM a DJ"

If you thought this was a hard industry to crack just now, give it 12 months and watch the amount of wannabes who proclaim to be the next big thing or have got into the top 10 on line scores of DJ (Ahem) Hero
and thus, think they have what it takes to spin in front of a crowd.

This doesn't suprise me, he is a wannabe pop star now.

Posted by elFreak on May-10-2009 11:37:

Posted by wing on May-10-2009 12:49:

if i recall correctly, tiesto may have been the first one to 'sell out' to the gaming industry.

dj hero. there's like 200 threads about it on TA.

ps. i was merely hypothesizing about the ferry corsten game

"Now you can discover how great it is to mix your own music in your own living room!"
i thought people had been doing that since the last 25 years?
also its not very great to mix at home, boring imo, why i quit.

Can't wait until the DJ reality show pops up.

Posted by Zak McKracken on May-10-2009 15:14:

cant wait for producer hero, pretend to "make your own tracks in your own living room, wii remote acts like a real PC-mouse!". wait that would be a real daw. my first tracks where on PS1 maybe my future can be on Nintendo.

Wasn't that The Club?

Armin and Wii? It's a perfect fit. Both started out with lots of promise and then quickly reverted to shitty, halfassed products for the mass market.

You recalled correctly, but I guess the fun & games naming and shaming Tiesto for selling out, got in the way of reading the updated statement from the man himself denying the links as fake rumours. Maybe Armin didn't catch up with that news either, as he went jumping headfirst into gaming to copy Tiesto (again).

Tiesto's had tunes on Wipeout for example, and made the remix of Edward Carnby, thats it for computer games (so far).

thank god i didn't sell my wii

wiimote will come in handy for the jesus pose most def

Chemical Brothers, Leftfield and Orbital had their tracks in the original Wipeout from 1995. So in terms of originality Tiesto was far from first. In fact what's made Wipeout and Wipeout 2097 (XL in USA) so unique was the brilliant music combined with the futuristic environment. Still some of the best games ever.
Especially 2097.

I refuse.

Should I edit my first post along the lines of "tiesto was the first nah nah" to make your reply about originality relevant? I never claimed he was first to get tracks commissioned to game soundtracks, he was ahead of Armin though.

completely agree about the soundtrack to wipeout
