What ever happened to tek^tonik?
tek^tonik (alternately spelled tektonik and tektonik^) were a duo that were signed to Platipus Records. They did superb remixes of Art of Trance - Mongoose, Moogwai - Viola, and Union Jack - Two Full Moons and a Trout. They also released a great single called Shine on Platipus. Their sound is really awesome and atmospheric.
Today, I decided to pop on iTunes and Discogs and see if I could find anything more about them, and apparently they released an EP called "Red 1" on a record label called FML back in 2006. I downloaded the EP, and it's really superb - highly recommended to anyone who likes a really deep acid/tribal sound. It includes a pretty good remix of Shine, although I prefer the original.
Anyway, I'm curious if anyone has any idea what happened to them - their website hasn't been updated in eons and I haven't been able to find a myspace or any relevant information.
+1
Maybe someone could try emailing Platipus, see if they know anything...
No idea, but i'm a big fan and have been listening to them alot again.
The 'Red' ep was really nice.
