home/indoor gardening
so recently i decided to purchase some Naga Jolokia seeds (world's hottest chili peppers according to the guinness book of world records). i germinated ten seeds and ended up keeping four of the hardiest plants. something about growing plants really caught my interest so i decided to buy a 90watt UFO L.E.D. grow light. holy crap this thing is bright! apparently it is used to replace 400watt HPS lights. now im thinking about getting a small hydroponics kit for these peppers.
any of you in to the whole indoor/home gardening thing?
I love gardening! Not as high tech as you are, but I have lots of various indoor plants. I also planted a herb garden for the balcony a few days ago. It should provide us with fresh herbs for the entire summer.

I love gardens. Inside I stick with cactuses - I love them.
Im going to plant a bunch of flowers on my fire escape/balcony hopefully this weekend. I would love to have an herb garden but raccoons and squirrels are always digging things up... Im worried that the herbs wouldnt survive all the trauma... I'll have to look into it.
As for you gardening Jay... if you come across any questionsI can forward them to my mother. My mother is a HUGE gardener both inside and out. Im pretty sure she has the same bulb as you for some of her indoor plants.

I just grow herbs, because I realized that adding herbs to your meals is the easiest way to keep flavor without the calories
Herbs grow UBER fast. I have basil and cilantro right now and it only took a ocuple weeks to grow to 1 foot plants

I have beautiful spring bulbs in my front garden, tulips, hyacinths, daffodils. I also have a lilac tree and some pansies I planted.
My house is full of plants, too. I don't know the names of all of them but I will take some pics....
This is much fuller now than 2 weeks ago when I took this...

so heres an update...
i moved both my peppermint plants outside and they are doing well.
i moved three of my naga jolokia peppers outside but they are not doing so well due to the cold summer we're having.
the one naga jolokia i still have indoor under the LED light is doing fantastic. i just transplanted it to a 12" pot yesterday (from a 5" clay pot).
i got a 4x2 ft grow tent coming in the mail as well as some jalapeno and habanero seeds.
gonna run a small (four 3 gallon buckets) DWC hydroponics system. germinating seeds in rockwool and using hydroton as the medium. should be interesting. i cant wait to get it all running and take pics of it.
Peppermint is a perennial plant, you can leave it outside and it'll flourish and spread.
I have so much of it outside that I don't know what to do with.

I started growing basil, rosemary and chives on my balcony. The basil is growing so fast I don't know what to do with it! lol
A good tip is use seaweed extract once a week when you water the plants. It gives them plenty of strength.
A sign that TOTAs are growing older is when they start talking gardening
