TIME FESTIVAL -Saturday July 25th 2009-

It gives us great pleasure to announce that the Techno room of this
years Time Festival will be headlined by one the Biggest names in Techno and electronice music.

My 3rd ever party was Jeff Mills @ Intl Center and that was one crazy event. Seeing him at DEMF as well next weekend but this is a nice surprise...

I still remember the major drama promoters went through about 9 years ago to bring Mills to mtl/toronto... thankfully he has a different agent now.

wasn't there some huge fallout reg. him playing at Turbo once?

Isn't he notorious for not showing up @ gigs, or am I mixing him up with some other techno god?

well not sure where in Toronto he was supposed to play at the time, Sona had him booked on the Friday night though. The promoters ended up airing the agent's dirty laundry when they had to announce the cancellation on short notice because of the 'circumstances'... I doubt Mills was even aware of what was going on at the time but basically after that his agent claimed he would never play in Canada again (and then when he played at Aria in 2004 he had another agent it seems).

Jeff Mills is nuts though. Although he stank it up at DEMF 2 years ago, I saw him in France last year and it was literally one of the best sets I've ever heard. Probably in the top 10. The things he was doing with the mixer and the records is giving me goosebumps as I think about it right now. The whole night, I was laughing in disbelief at what I was hearing.

When this guy is on, he's untouchable.

yeah I am still kicking myself for passing on this small-ish club gig he played in Utrecht awhile back, a few Dutchies I know still talk about it.
