Shipping records via Royal Mail First Class Air

I noticed that juno.co.uk will ship records to the USA quite cheaply via Royal Mail First Class Air. But, I know nothing about this other than it isn't trackable like a FedEx. However, it's nearly a third of the price.

Anything I should be aware of by going this route? I'm not really familiar with this service. They say it would take about 4 - 9 days.

I've never purchased vinyl from an online store before, and decks.de charges $rape. (That's pronounced, "rape with a dollar sign".)

Experiences? Thoughts?

Fine.

I have them shipped all the way to OSTRAYAA every so often and they always arrive well packed and in good condition. They have usually arrive in under two weeks too.

I used to buy from Juno regularly and never had an issue with Royal mail. Also, seldom took longer than 5 days to get my records. This is based on roughly 25+ shipments over my record purchasing career.

i sell music for a living and being based in the uk, i use royal mail daily.

my experiences are mixed, so now i get everything recorded delivery. shipping internationally costs an additional 3.50 on top of shipping cost, but its worth doing in my eyes.

Juno is a great company to deal with and I've never had any issues when they send stuff by Royal Mail to Amsterdam or when we used to order to Montreal, though we often paid more when living in Montreal for FedEx service (added peace of mind).

i get my decks.de records in 1 to 2 days. I don't find it that bad if you order in bulk.

I'm not used to buying/shipping vinyl, though. I buy digital. All my vinyl was handed down, but it's not the kind of stuff I play out. Just enough to screw around with (old trance, hard house, etc.) Been thinking about changing that.

So, a bit of sticker shock for me.
