The Beef Spectrum

Rare

Well done.

My preference: medium for steak, medium-well for burgers.

Always have burgers well done. It doesn't really matter with steak but anything other than well done for burgers presents a serious health hazard.

I always get medium-well at restaurants and have never had a problem.

Any restaurant worth their salt should make sure that there middle is cooked and the juices run clear anyway but if you do order anything other than 'well done' there's always the chance they will leave it a little raw in the middle and that's bad news.

Ahhhhhhh no. If you really don't trust the restaurants to cook a medium-rare burger that won't kill you, don't go to that fucking restaurant. I really don't get how people can actually prefer well done

Rare if I know the restaurant and it's produce. Otherwise Medium-rare to be safe..

If it's wagyu occasionally I order it medium.

I used to order well done when I was a kid because my parents were scared that I would get sick if I ate medium well or medium rare. But now I just order medium.
