Lowland Classical Trancelations album (orchestral trance symphonies)

anyone else picked this album up? I'm pretty impressed by it, considering it's by armada.

Basically it's an album full of classical remixes (woods, winds, synths) of the most popular trance songs. I like the remix of Flaming June and Communication.

Here's Solarstone - Seven Cities

wonder what anyone else thinks of this?

The idea is/was a bit cheesy but the outcome is pretty good, great even for some of the tracks.

Lowland originally performed many of these live with a grand piano at a few parties here some years back. He got the classical project signed to Armada and then fully reworked the tracks. It's a shame some of the originally played pieces got left out and "were replaced" with some Armada related versions.

From what I've listened to so far, these interpretations can be a bit hit and miss. Not very impressed by the Seven Cities one, but the 1998 one is lovely.

It's a nice idea anyway.

On a related note, I'm quite interested in acoustik-instrumental which is the same idea only with techno songs.

Did you realise the Seven Cities melody is not original? It was taken from an Aussie rockband's '70s track.

Also, Maxence Cyrin did a whole lot of electronic tracks on piano which are quite good.

Yeah, removing the shitty ones like serenity and hearing the originals would've been good. I most like the clannad one and the slusnik luna - sun one is good if a bit weird sounding.

hehe Mindcircus sounds like 'everytime' by Brithney Spears (the pianos).
