Been dating one for years, LOL. Once in a very long while she'll appreciate a dance track. Maybe four or five tracks out of the hundreds she has heard me play. And she doesn't mind low-tempo electronic stuff like Boards of Canada and Massive Attack.

But basically no trance, techno, or house for her.

i got my first boyfriend into electronic music. second one didn't care for it at all and that relationship overall was a massive failure. the last two guys i dated were avid fans like myself.

i honestly can't see myself getting involved with someone who doesn't share the same passion for it that i do. ok maybe i would, but he would have to have a lot of other really redeeming qualities.

Hates it with a passion? Really? If anyone hates anything that much, they more than likely hate other things that rock as well. It's not just music.

and answer to the question, no i wouldnt. if the girl absolutely hated my kind of music with a passion, then that would mean she hates one of my main interests, and you talk to your significant other about your interests, thats how you gel. if they hate my main interest then theres not gonna be a lot else to talk about

EDIT: awkward moment. reminds me of this time when i was at work, a customer i was dealing with had returned to collect something and he was wearing a suit, i said "looking very dapper, mate" he says "oh, ive just been to a funeral, my dad died last week" ...erk!

Seeing that I am not huge into EDM anymore that would be a yes.

If she didnt like drone/ambient then... I duh know...
