Recommendations for good dating sites?

Sup, COR (is this my first thread on here?!?)

Anyone have a dating site that they are happy with/have gotten a good date from? I've tried OKCupid, found it lacking, and other sites have been full of women who don't respond to messages, spammers, etc.

Craigslist was fun for a day. I got 6 spammers and a guy that was pretending to be a girl to respond to my ad (should've known when he started going on about his ass...). Now I have to add the disclaimer "vaginas only!" to my ad!

I'm looking at soulgeek.com, because I have some geekier hobbies...

Is there one site that you can recommend over the others? It seems like the good ones are paid sites, but how do I know if they're good before paying to use them? I don't want to run into infinite spam-bots and desperate gay guys...
