Sasha's Beatport Chart

Has anyone seen him lately that can confirm he's playing any of that? There is some pretty fantastic music on there, if he's really playing any of that BIG props to him.

Jon Hopkins - Light Through The Flames - Ewan Pearson Downtown Lights Remix
Moderat - Porc2
Charlie May - Demons and Angels
Glitch - I Was Meant To Be
Manu Delago, Timo Garcia - The Hang Drum Track
Ben Watt - Guinea Pig - DJ Koze's Vocal Variation
Adam Parker - Highlife - Sasha' Inolv2er Mix
DJ Hell - The Angst - Henrik Schwarz Mix
No Regular Play - Blonde Juan (Cover of Ada - Cool My Fire)
Andre Lodemann - Where Are You Now?

That's kind of my point

Obviously stuff like Charlie May and his mix of Adam Parker are a given, but the No Regular Play and Delago/Garcia track interest me. Same with the Andre Lodemann one, just doesn't seem like something he'd play.

I really like this chart. The tracks seems so diverse and yet that sasha cheekyness is still there, take that glitch track for example.

Posted by supersaw abuse on May-28-2009 06:21:

This seems like a good time to mention that the Invol2ver mix of Highlife is superb.

Jon Hopkins - Light Through The Veins (Ewan Pearson's Downtown Lights Remix)

uh... is coldplay sampled in this song or is it just me..

Posted by montana on May-28-2009 07:35:

...pleasantly surprised.

Noticed his chart when I checked in on Beatport earlier today. Unfortunately can't vouch for these tracks working their way into his sets, but I certainly wouldn't put it past him.

Saw him last Wednesday, he's playing that kind of stuff. Not all-set-long though.

Yeah he's credited in the booklet.

Posted by Light The Fuse on May-28-2009 13:19:

really?

sounds like standard sasha to me

Posted by KiNeTiC ENeRgY on May-28-2009 15:00:

yup standard Sasha stuff. Just depends on the venue he is playing at, as to which direction musically he goes, but for the most part that's his sound.

Posted by denys envy on May-28-2009 15:18:

i think bas is just used to seeing sasha at huge festivals and venues.

when i saw him my second time, @ Cielo back in 2007, this is exactly the type of stuff he played. KiNeTiC ENeRgY hit it right on the nose.

More evidence how Sasha has become a complete bore and a shell of his past self over the past four years.

While I agree with you in the sense that 80% of the recent Sasha sets I've heard have been completely boring, this chart is anything but (barring that Charlie May track which I don't like). Lots of really nice music in it which is a surprise for me.

I recently picked up that Light Through The Veins package and holy shit, I love it.

I liked the jon hopkins track. Everything else just bored me to tears.

I am wondering the same thing about Guy J's chart. Awesome shit in there.

Posted by coroknight on May-28-2009 18:18:

Light Through The Veins, and The Hang Drum Track have really grown on me.

This is the kind of shit that I can listen to over and over.

Eh not really, caught him not too long ago at Vanguard and he was playing deepish house. But the selection (again most notably Andrew Lodemann & No Regular Play) doesn't really sound like something Sasha would play. Surprised is all

might be rare that he does get down like that. here are some vids -

The chart is pretty ordinary to me.

Note that that the chart only represents Sasha's 10 currently favourite tracks that are available on Beatport right now. He obviously has more to offer.

Posted by DOOMBOT on May-28-2009 21:41:

Sasha always had a nice track selection. The track arrangement in his sets is always what bothered me most about him.

Posted by KiNeTiC ENeRgY on May-29-2009 00:51:

I saw him at Shine for WMC, and he played nothing but banging tech house, with some prog bombs. Nothing boring at all, like most of the tracks on this chart.
