I guess not, why should someone put win-vsts into a MacOS image.

Posted by jupiterone on May-28-2009 20:29:

get the pc versions?

Posted by Magnus on May-28-2009 21:54:

You might try mounting it with Daemon Tools or breaking it open with an app such as UltraISO.

Take the disk back to the shop you bought it from and demand a refund

Posted by Waza on May-28-2009 22:36:

if indeed you did purchase it from a shop they should have asked you wahts os your working from.

There is a number of softwares that you can us on a pc to convert a dmg file.

magic iso and deamon as someone magnus says. but you can always trial them to see if they work or not.

But my advice would be go back to where you purchased the disc and tell them your running a pc.They should sort you out with a proper disc.

Maybe he's using an unsecured wireless access point. Maybe he's not actually paying for internet...

floyd741, if you did actually purchase a legitimate version of this software, or if it's legitimate freeware, please ignore my comment! Every now and then people come onto these forums and discuss pirated software/ warez and so on. Sad but true.

Yeah, those people are real dickheads. Who would be so stupid? Besides, if you can't even work out how to warez your software, you don't deserve it at all

BTW, is Terrence Parker THE terrence parker? From Detroit?

Throw them away and buy them

Posted by floyd741 on May-29-2009 12:50:

I'm a high school kid without a job, you think I bought this stuff?

It's actually the Sugar Bytes bundle, it costs about $600, the place I downloaded it from had it in .rar format (can't see the files it contains) and the description was no more then "great stuff". So I had no way of telling in what format the files would be. I could try the daemon thing later, or just not trouble myself since I just got Vanguard and Albino. *delete*

/thread

Posted by Waza on May-29-2009 13:09:

Well you would download from pirate sites it's probably full of viruses anyway.

But seriously if your ever stuck and trying to figure out how to get a file to work say .iso or .dmg etc just google dmg file and then research on what programs work.

What a fucking worthless piece of shit you are, morally reprehensible and mentally incompetent.

I'm graduating high school in a few days and I worked two jobs just so i could buy my first version of FL Studio two years ago. I bought the educational versions through my school of Reason and Cubase 4 each for less than $100.

I don't have a clue where you can come off and say just because you can't afford that it should be free to you. Do you steal clothes, cars, computers? Well software shouldn't be any different.

Why don't you just run along and go play producer elsewhere. Sitting in your bedroom with the dell; mommy and daddy bought you with 4chan open and you jerking off to whatever fetish you can get off to.

Get a fucking backbone and don't use excuses for your laziness. Grow up and get a job, I'm sure it can't be that hard even in your backwoods redneck town.

/thread?
You aren't on 4chan, nor are you playing WoW.

I wish we had some mods on this forum.

He would steal clothes, cars, and computers if he could get away with it.

Sorry, but you think you have me figured out all wrong (or at least partially). First of all, I don't play WoW, I'm stealing music production software, you think I'm gonna pay $15 a month for a stupid video game (video games are a waste of time, imo). Also, I went to 4chan once and I didn't go back. Again, seems like a waste of time.

And don't you dare call me mentally incompetent. You don't know me or who I am, how dare you attack my intelligence? At least I don't have to spew swear words to make my argument sound valid, if anything you're the mentally incompetent one attacking another person's intelligence without precedent and riddling your statement with swear words like a little kid. My brother does that, you know? He's 12.

I'm sorry for having a hobby, if that's why you've become infuriated then I'll say it. Sorry for having spare time that I'd like to put to use. Don't you think I've thought about getting a job to pay for things? No, of course I guess you think that never crossed my mind seeing as I'm mentally incompetent, am I right so far? Unfortunately the economic status of the United States isn't at it's best and it's hard to find a place willing to throw money to a 16 year old kid for a bit of work.

Maybe you may have understood incorrectly from something I said but this isn't a backwoods redneck town. In fact, it's a nice suburban town with good schools. The problem is, a lot of the people here are ignorant, that kind of messes up the entire image.

And, /thread as far as I know) has nothing to do with wow or 4chan. In HTML code to close a tag you would something like to close a page. /thread is just a sort of "play on words" but without words. I only used /thread because I had made my decision and no longer needed help on the subject.

There's no need to get mad when someone openly talks about pirating software. I would definitely but the programs once I had the money, it just makes everything easier. I download them because I can't afford them currently, it's more of a "Free Trial" then having the programs forever and never paying. Like I said, it's just a hobby (also kind of a learning experience). It's not like I make any money by experimenting with software synths.

I'll probably just stop using the production forums, way too much negativity here.

It annoys me when people ask for help getting their pirated software to work, but this was unnecesarily harsh.

Theres lots of reasons why a person might not be able to get a job or afford software, and I personally don't think its even comparable to stealing a car or clothes. Regardless of what my personal decisions may be on the matter, I wouldn't criticize some kid for wanting to make music and downloading rather than paying for software to facilitate that.

Your post was offensive and ridiculous, I think you only made youself look stupid.

No. If i got a job, you can as well. If you want a free trial you can download the demo version.

The economic climate is negligible, i have two jobs now, i found one on craigslist for wed design and the other is in my local mall.

I'm not here to argue, you know you are wrong, there is no way to legitimately justify what you did.

I don't need to know you buddy, you don't need to apologize to me, apologize to the developers.

In the end you are killing the scene you love.

Just a small piece of advice... if you are going to pirate software at least don't come here and flaunt it then ask for help trying to make it work. Its just an insult to the forum itself.

Maybe it was harsh, but hey i don't appreciate stuff like this from people close to my age... i was in his exact position. But instead of stealing i realized that i have to actually pay for my hobby.

If anything i think i have the most right of anyone here to criticize him. I was in his situation twice... first when i bought my turntables then CDJs then when i bought production software.

You learn to value things much more when you actually worked for them.

I doubt it. Everyone's situation is different. He may have good reasons why he doesn't have time for a job, maybe his parents are pressuring him to do well at school, or maybe he has a girlfriend he needs to take care of, or maybe he has ill family members he needs to take care of. You don't know his situation and to say that "he's in exactly the same siuation as me" is just ridiculous.

And I was also in the same situation a few years ago and bought a hell of a lot of software and hardware. So I have just as much right as you to say that there are reasons why people might not be able to have a job while in school.

It doesn't matter, you can't justify theft of something that isn't something that you need to sustain life (food&water).
