Ableton Live 7 Crashing!

So it started just now, 2nd time in a row I'm using the soft and then all of a sudden firefox opens up and loads ableton.com out of nowhere! I close firefox and Ableton froze and it's not responding.

What the hell is going on, anyone has had this issue???

What's going on: You are a tool who can't even work out how to pirate software.

PS
If you did actually buy it, sorry. But it seems terribly suspicious running 7 when 8 is out... And that particular issue...

Well not really. 8 wasn't a major upgrade and it is fairly costly. I'm still on 7.

I dont understand this at all. There are cracked versions of 8 out there. Surely, if anything, somebody who is on an older version of live is more likely to be legit as they have a reason not to upgrade, that reason being the cost. People using cracks can just keep downloading the latest cracked versions and so have little reason to stay on an older version.

I am on Ableton 5. I bought it but would rather get new synths than upgrade the DAW, as it already does everything I need for now.

Isn't it a bit harsh to insult somebody and jump to conclusion first and apologize in the same post.

I know there are a lot of warez users out there, but let's not automaticly think everybody here does that.

I actually misread his post. I thought he said it was the second time he'd used opened ableton

But yeah, the error still sounds suss to me. If its a legit copy then surely just contact ableton support..?

I have nothing against people who use warez for the record, theres legitimate reasons to do so. But people who whine about it when they don't work astound me.

+1.

V.8 is simply too expensive at the moment and V.7 does nearly everything I need

Thanks for the insults, the prejudice and reading my post.

HOWEVER, I've had Live 7 for roughly 6 months now and just last night experienced this problem while playing around with it. I actually closed out Ableton and restarted it thinking it would solve the issue but it didn't. I'm not sure what's wrong that's why I decided to ask here. Besides, you guys usually reply faster than anyone else.

Also, judging from your replies I believe you also have no clue what could be wrong with it.

Thanks.

So did you buy it or not? (because you avoided answering it in your post!)

Anyway, Ableton is not meant to be able to do that - the fact it is opening up another program altogther, then launching many instances, sounds like a virus, more commonly associated with warez, so even though it might be harsh or unfair, I think you can understand why people would jump to the conclusion.

I've never heard of ableton do it but I remember there was a dodgy crack of SX3 floating about that did the same when you tried to use the help function.

Uninstall, restart, then install again. You're probably not going to be able to fix without doing so.

I've read that cracked Ableton 7s will stop working after a few months.
