After the show, I met Armin Van Buren. He told me he was a great fan of mine and that my music inspired him to become a musician! I felt really honored coming from one of the 2 or 3 best DJ in the world. We discussed about how my music has influenced trance music, which is so huge all over the world, except in France where we are more electro. I definitely feel part of that trance family. Armin is also a great human being and we promised to each other to keep the contact and to collaborate on one project, one of these days..

Would love to hear a JMJ/AVB colab. I'd literally sh!t my pants if I met JMJ, this guy has been my hero since I was like 15.... Armin is one lucky SOB.

I really hope JMJ won't ruin his status by working with Chuck.E.Cheese.

You know what this means, right?

Armin van Buuren - Oxygene 2009

If you haven't heard last few JmJ albums - let me clue you in: his "street cred" can use a little boost.

Is it possible that a true musician legend like Jean Michelle Jarre to join forces with the world's biggest cheese trader (Armin van BUUURIN) ?

I can already hear the vocals in my head:
Breeeathe in! Breaaaaathe out!
It's oxygene in your nose!
I missed you soooooooo much,
I missed your refreshening touch!

Erm, Jarre's had a corny synth-pop side to him since the late 80s. A collaboration between the two wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.

In terms of dance music, I doubt he'll ever top Chronologie IV.

To be honest, JMJ's latest efforts haven't been free of cheese either.

Yeah, I don't really think it'd be all that odd of a collab. I thought JMJ had produced poppy tripe before. I know he certainly played some poppy stuff.

It'd be funny hearing Ethnicolor with a supersaw breakdown and a deadmau5 clap though.

why man

JMJ is my idol too, which is exactly why I don't want to see him anywhere near Armin. If this had been 1997 'ish and Armin still thought like he did when he made Blue Fear, maybe then. But not now.

Just imagine Jean Michel Jarre vs Armin Van Buuren featuring *insert some birds name here*

I've just been sick in my mouth

well John 00 Fleming and Digital Blonde aka 00.db have already beaten Armin to it, apparently they got JMJ's blessing to redo one of his tracks a while back and it is soon to be released i think.....awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jarre is caching in his pension i see.

If we're simply talking remakes/covers that has been done a lot over the years. Equinoxe 4, Souvenir De Chine, ring any bells?

IMO (and possibly quite naive of me) but the latest Gaia track may be of some indication that Armin still has it and not all hope is lost.

Check out Gaia - Tuvan:

Hope it's not some cheesy DJ Dado-like remix you used to find on "Dreamdance" compilations.

Knowing J00F, he probably lured sweet, innocent and unsuspecting JmJ tracks to sandy warm beaches of Goa, got them all fucked up on acid and brutally ass-raped them to a tune of 150+ BssPM (ball sack slaps per minute)

LOL.

That would be fun. Armin seemed like a nice guy when I met him a few years ago. I'm sure he has a great studio as well...

lol
looking forward to hearing it anyway

Collaborations are only successful imo if they make either one or both artists create something better than they would have done if they produced the track alone.
