Feedback needed on new type of DJ Interface / Controller

Hi!
I'm posting here in the hopes that some of you might be interested in helping out with answering a couple of questions about a new music-controller we are making at Aalborg University (Denmark).

We would like to hear what you think about a project we are currently working on, and if you have suggestions for changes or something you feel is missing (or if you think you can use it).

Here's a short video describing the project: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bV8KF9thQGw

You can fill out the questionnaire here: http://survey.playground-gfx.com/in...wtest=Y&lang=en
It takes about 5-7 minutes to fill out, and in the process you'll be able to shape an entirely new interface for controlling music, filters and effects.

We really hope that some of you are willing to help us out.

Thank you for your time.
Group 430, Medialogy, Aalborg University

Thanks for the feedback palm - really appreciate it
If you haven't already done so, remember to check out the questionnaire where we ask a couple of specific questions.

Thanks again for your help!

Being completely honest the 3D sensor seemed kind of pointless to me, just like a glorified knob. However the 8 sensor device seemed quite good, probably the only bit i'd be interested in though. Would like to see some more demos of it and exactly how it can be used (with better quality sound please though lol)

i thought the idea was great, how many midi devices do we say works great, just needs a couple more knobs or buttons for X,Y,Z.
sound quality was poor though, is it expected software will smooth out the discrete levels that the 3d sensors are giving now so it's not so choppy?
and holding it all together, if you build a rig of a few knows, a few sliders, I can imagine ripping it all apart when playing if there's not a solid frame to hold it.

It's a cool idea and a very interesting project to work on, congrats for that. But quite honestly, I don't see it as a practical device.
