Love Examples of Trance moving you

i dont know what got into me but you know how every once in a while you have those moments where you re-discover how much you love trance... anyways i want to hear some example on how trance moves you or moments you realize how great trance is
here are some of my examples:

my head was down deep in my notebook doing problems for some engineering class, i have a armin set playing in the backround and project medusa vs. exor - moonshine (part 2) comes on, im still in the books and the breakdown is going on (that repetitive notes) and then all of a sudden when the melody kicks in my head just lifted as if by the hands of god and i started to drift away in euphoria.

or like today for example im chatting away on IM and im listening to a set when all of a sudden after the break down those powerful reverbed/delayed chords of Midway - Monkey Forest come on i just lift my hands in the air subconsiously, and then i lol'ed at myself when i realized my hands were in the air waving around and im alone in my room.

also i love taking naps with headphones on and a trance or ambient set playing... you get into that state of trance (literarly speaking) where you are both consiously awake and asleep at the same time, and when you wake up time seems to have been so short and long together....

ok that was me opening up how 'bout you guys?

"I just love listening to trance because it makes me feel so strong and makes me fantasize about being this hero kind of like Superboy fighting the bad villains who listen to pop music and Chad Kroeger but other than that I think the whole trance experience is just so absolutely refreshing and revitalizing it's very inspiring and it just makes me want to jump up and down waving my arms in the air as I fantasize about being Superboy rescuing good looking female ravers from burning clubs or protecting them from ugly goober men who try to harm them and I think that maybe next month after I've saved up my Wendy's paychecks I'll buy some weights and really start pumping out while I listen to the trance music because the trance music will get me so pumped up it'll move me to do more and more reps each time"

Nice thread Izzy!

i have a couple of examples:

1. when i get into a fight and get really angry, i step inside my room walking from one side to another and then i look at my computer screen and see the WINAMP simbol, then - as fast as i can - i open it and play tracks like: Tiesto - urban train or S.O.G, and then i get as calm as a baby, and sometimes i even cry.

2. when i need to study 4 a big test and i cant even look at the books any more, i play some hard style tracks of cosmic gate and in a matter of seconds im right back on track!

3. Im a basketball player, before every game i play again hard tracks and my body just vibrates and is ready for the game!

4. every time i hear a cool track from a porch or a pub and i usually cant help it and i start to move, even if there are ppl watching.. lol

so, this is the way trance effect me, and i realize trance is not just music but a way of life!, i hope that is what you ment in this thread.

ya thats what i meant... and lol at palivar, no kidding sometimes trance makes me feel that way.... actually what he mentioned about the weights is right... the first gym i worked out in had only trance music playing (udi's gym in haifa) and trust me when a good song comes and you get that rush you can push some really good weight

If goa's your cup of tea, try it that way. You'll be amazed.

for me its when im doing something.. reading or whatever, totally encompassed in it and ive got some trance playing in the background but have forgotten about it. then out of nowhere, like lightning on a sunny day, awesome vocals kick in, fully make me snap out of whatever im doing and my eyes start to water cos its sooo god damn good

The best setting for me is when I'm travelling, driving, on a bus, or, especially ,on a plane. The world seems ordinary, and then I put my headphones on, and sudenly ordinary surrounding look stunning and my head feels clear.
When I'm flying, I'll put my hair down around my ears and prop a pillow up so no one notices my headphones, so I can listen to a track during takeoff, which I LOVE. My favourite recent moment of "re-discovery" was when I was on a flight to Munich listening to Svenson - Clubbing On Sunshine and just as it hit the gorgeous breakdown the wheels left the ground. Those sorts of feelings are why I love it!

by the way, I love falling asleep to prog, esp. James Holden. I will try goa sometime!

cheers
Ilina

Oooh..listening to trance on takeoff is amazing. 'Blank & Jones - The Nightfly' works best (if you see the video you'll understand).

Actually....today!
I was driving up to Barrie (about an hour north from where I live) to get fitted for a tux cause I'm Best Man in a wedding on Sat.
On the way back home, I put in my mixed Trance CD I made up and it ends off with Seven Cities...
I couldn't help feel so at piece with such a smile on my face and thinking back to Sat. night when Armin started his set with that tOOn.

Party Hat

Wow! I thought I was just going crazy. I get that feeling just like you guys when I am listen to tracks like DJ Jamx CAN YOU DIG IT! right when the trance kicks in I just feel like I was touch by god or something my whole body just starts to tinkle it goes up my back in to my head through my arms it is the greatest feeling sometimes I even cry it feels that good and this is without drugs. I think the trick is being able to put your self into a different state of mind the music helps you get there. This is how I rate music if I get that feeling then it is good.

Exactly what I feel

But I started listening in 1999 (Don't know where I heard this, but it's been called "The Year of Trance")
