Atlantic Hurricane Season Starts Today!

So, any predictions? who thinks Florida's gonna get wiped off the map?

quote:
In its initial outlook for the 2009 Atlantic hurricane season, which runs from June through November, NOAAs National Weather Service Climate Prediction Center calls for a 50 percent probability of a near-normal season, a 25 percent probability of an above-normal season and a 25 percent probability of a below-normal season.

LOL HOLY FUCK HOW VAGUE CAN YOU BE?!?!?!

First day of winter here! Dry season, woooo!

Edit: That quote is one of the most retarded things I've ever read They may has well of said "there's a 100% chance that anything could happen, we just don't fucking know".

Fucking weather forecasters

I predict we will have a 1.35% chance of seeing a Hurricane system with sustained 175 mph winds.

I also predict that within that 1.35% there is a .02% chance that Russia will produce a Category 6 using highly advanced technology described in the hour long video below:

If you don't believe in what Tom Bearden in saying have a look at this video:

P.S.Florida gets wiped off the map when the artic caps melt, Greenland loses all of the ice, and Russia or China figure out how to create hurricanes that have 200mph sustained winds.

LOL i know; i honestly hate the NHC's forecasts. their track, once something actually starts, is usually pretty good; although even that changes a lot, but still....come on!

I'm not worried about hurricanes. they don't really effect us in Arkansas(well usually they don't, but sometimes they do). I'm more worried about torandoes. Just last year we had 94 confirmed tornadoes here. Tornadoes are way more scary than hurricanes are.

Another katrina would be nice.

Posted by Ania_xox on Jun-01-2009 15:07:

I hope not
or we'd have to hire new FLTAs to make fun of

plus I'd have to cancel my prospective trip to Disney World

Tell it to shimmy west and wipe out Texas this year

Posted by Slylee on Jun-01-2009 15:12:

yea but we don't really start getting any until the fall, so until then it's just thunder storms every afternoon like clockwork here in florida.

Posted by Zild on Jun-01-2009 16:01:

I'm hoping like I always do that Florida gets fucking smashed and Texas is left the fuck alone.

Posted by squirrelly on Jun-01-2009 16:17:

Even after all these years, hurricanes still scare me.

I hope mother nature gets it right this time and wipes New Orleans off the map....what a dump.

Posted by Zild on Jun-01-2009 16:44:

Normally I would agree with that, but the woman I love is temporarily stuck in New Orleans, so we're going to have to cancel that out.

never.....for the most part New Orleans is a dump....besides....if you are going to build below sea level then you deserve to get wiped off the map.

Tell that to the several dozen residents of Death Valley.

Ironically I was in 3rd grade and for the weekend my mom and dad along with me and my sister drove from Texas to Defuniak Springs Fl . . . We stayed for a while because my great grandmother had passed away and we were salvaging what was left at the time in her home.

So the family loaded up a U-Haul truck. After we loaded it we started to head back and that is when we came into contact with the first outer bands of Hurricane Andrew. In fact it rained so hard that the U-Haul started leaking. I also remember seeing streets that were full of what looked to be 1 ft of water.

As my dad and I were hauling ass back to Texas we got a warning from police on the side of Interstate 10 that the roads in Louisiana were shutting down. In fact all of in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama portions of I-10 were being shut down. My must of fucking floored that shit back to Texas because we managed to get back home safely using I-10.

So when I get back to Elementary School I tell my entire class about Hurricane Andrew and how I was inside a Hurricane named after me. That is when my teacher took me outside and called me a liar. I kept telling her I was not a liar and she eventually had it with me and called my parents. That is when she found out I was actually telling the truth.

Yeah, I was living in Miami at the time. And coincidentally enough, I now live in Homestead.
