Love is in the air Euphoric Trance

What is the secret of euphoric trance?

-What kind of bassline?
-Lots of strings?
-Beat per minute?
-Simple or not so simple melody?

Or is there some site where to find tips about making euphoric trance?

Listen to a lot of it

Ussually you need massive strings and highly-emotional melodies...

i believe the secrets in the sounds and the note progression!

Try experimenting with basses than arent on the root note all the time too.

What is the "root note"?

as in all music making, experience is a very important factor. I think you gotta learn it yourself, there is no magic tutorial which will make you the next Ferry Corsten *unfortunately*

No, I am not waiting for some magic tutorial I really wanna learn by doing, but still I need some help about where should I start and what should I do Some basics, U know...

And what is the "root note"?

the root note is the first note of the scale your piece is in

Posted by flutlicht junky on Jun-21-2002 09:24:

yep, its basically the main key/harmonic that the song is in.

Say you have a basic C chord that changes up to a G chord, instead of makingn the bass C and then up to G.

You could have a C and then goto D, because that would work with a G (mostly likely).

Or another good one would be to play th ebass down when the main chord goes up. Like when you change up to G, play the bass, so that it goes from C DOWN to a G.

Posted by Joi Lamusic on Jun-21-2002 13:42:

Oh, I go and try that

So, if I play the chord (that is same like strings?) in C5 and then it goes up to G5, so the bass should go either C5 and then to D5 or C5 and then down to G4? Did I get that right?

Posted by Michael Russo on Jun-21-2002 23:42:

Not exactly... you want to build up tension. So say you're progressing from the tonic (1st note of scale) to dominant (fifth note). You can move your bass up too, that's no big deal. But to create "unrest" within the music, you could keep the bass where it is, or try moving it to a different note other than the dominant. I hope that was clear, my theory sucks neways....
