Xbox Project Natal
Introducing Project Natal, a revolutionary new way to play: no controller required. See a ball? Kick it, hit it, trap it or catch it. If you know how to move your hands, shake your hips or speak you and your friends can jump into the fun -- the only experience needed is life experience.
I was seriously waiting for the punchline, but i never came.
Its pretty cool if its real lol
i can imagine a buddy fucking around behind you and messing up ur moves.
M$ is definitely trying to play catch up on innovation vs. Wii

Tom Cruise in Minority Report..comes to live... awesome
The same with Wii, after a long day or work or school I'd rather just do it old school and sit with a controller in my hand and play for x amount of time.
looks really cool and innovative but im too lazy to put the effort sometimes. should be interesting how it pans out.
Personally I think this will fail. Everyone in the room will have to stay still. What if you have a small room where the console is?
I don't know with the avatars and now this Natal, it is obvious that Microsoft is trying to bite into Nintendos ridiculous share of the video game market. The microsoft rep even critisied Nintendo as using pre set waggle commands.
Natal would be good in theory, but remember this is if of courses your system doesnt overheat fail and die.
If I was an XBOX owner I would be more excited about Kojima and MGS coming to XBOX......
Sorry RJ I had too, its funny.
"Product vision: actual features and functionality may vary" = i'll believe it, when I see it
LOL
Well they have me intrigued.

Sony just unveiled their new Eye Toy...
It uses a wireless controller, similar to the Wiimote, but looks like its 100x better!

I see an emerging market of adult games that you can play using your penis.

Originally posted by Dior Homme I beg to differ. Nintendo has always been and will be a pioneer in the industry. From being the first ones to add shoulder buttons, joysticks, rumble on their controllers and also come out with the innovative wii-mote, other companies will do many things similar to imitate them.

Originally posted by rabbitjoker I don't think this has ever been the vision of Xbox. Xbox hardware is "hardcore", yes (the processor design still is a great deal ahead of it's time [no RROD comments pls, those have been fixed with a generous warranty] and has at least 3 years left before it is due for an update). HOWEVER, Microsoft's vision for the Xbox 360 has always been to create the "entertainment hub" of the house. Xbox supports Netflix, it has it's own currency, it offers (non-netflix) movie purchases and rentals, it offers exclusive video and online content, it supports messaging and friending, it now supports Facebook and Twitter, it connects with other Windows PCs to stream media from those devices, it now has collaborative gaming (1vs100) and it soon will integrate with Zune to provide more entertainment... Not to mention the gaming and networked gaming functionality. Natal is just an extension of the entertainment hub concept. It makes it easier for more people in the house to participate in using it - which is never a bad thing. I'm not even a big gamer guy - however after buying an Xbox around holiday season I can say that I am really really happy with the unit - it was a great investment.

Originally posted by infinity HiGH Their long term goal has always been to take over the living room but the path they're taking to reach that is through the hard core gamers, who in turn branch out into tech-geeks, audiophiles, etc. The people that play Halo and many of the other Xbox 360 games are the same people that care about 720p, 1080p, Dolby Digital, multi-core processors, etc etc.

I agree that Natal's goal is to diversify the audience but I really doubt it will do that. I just don't believe that the technology, however revolutionary it may be, will be applied well enough for the Natal to be a mass market hit. That is, unless they include it with every new Xbox 360 sold, as well as a collection of fun and addictive games. Then maybe it could work.
