what browser are you using?

with its recent release, Mozilla has stirred quite a lotta dust, maybe some of you are using it already. being a web standard advocate myself, i was wondering what browser are you guys (and grrrls) using?

IE6, the most reliable

Mozilla 1.0

And don't tell me Mozilla and netscape is the same

The only problem is i can't find a flash plugin i Windows... got no problem i Linux.

Posted by fieroavian on Jun-22-2002 07:10:

yay, show me your LIZARD!!

well netscape 6 is based on the mozilla code. it's more polished, and hence more bloated. there's a mozilla plugin guide on mozdev.org, check it out! it sure will help.

I know that IE sucks, but I'm using it, :'(
When I format the cd (next week), perhaps I'll install Netscape

Explorer..

Works Fine and Dandy for me.. heheh

I don't think IE it's a bad browser, but It doesn't give a fuck about the w3c standard, and because of that a lot of webmasters, really can't make there html and css code proper, that's why a lot of pages looks so fuck up in NS, Mozilla, Opera, Konquer.
But then again M$ makes IE and that's another reason to why you shouldn't use it

Posted by fieroavian on Jun-22-2002 21:51:

Cool chips, anyone?

*passes potato chips around

the reason why we shouldn't use IE is that it's not standard compliant. IE is too forgiving for errors, and render pages in its own way. that's why a lotta complex, so-called well-designed pages look so fucked up on opera or netscape.

so you say, you don't care as long as it works?

i'll make my site works everywhere but IE then.

standards aside, mozilla's tab-browsing and popup killer are so damn effective. like potato chips, "once you start, you can't stop."

I'm using IE 6.0, still not convinced why I shouldn't.

It works fine for me, didn't have to pay anything.

convince me why it's bad, I dare you!!!!!!!

Posted by Munken on Jul-02-2002 22:39:

As mentioned before, IE doesn't follow the w3c standard, resulting in bad webmaster who can't make a simple thing without fucking it up in every browser but IE.

IE's security sucks big time, the most reason vira's out there that i remember takes advances of security holes in IE's or outlooks.

If that's not reason enough for you... who cares? IE is a nice looking and easy to use browser, but it's not the only one, opera is really fast, but has some problems with javascripts, NS look and fells like Mozilla, but it's slower.

Mozilla.... well I'm in love, it's the best browser i ever tried, the multitapping is brilliant, you kan change skins, it's free, and they work there ass of for that browser, i have never see any browser with more updates than Mozilla.

But hey do like 90% of the Internet users, don't take the risk of trying anything new, just stick to IE... we all know that M$ is gonna keep giving IE away for free if they succed in knocking of all the other browsers.

ie seems fine to me

Posted by Xplorer on Jul-03-2002 15:06:

Using IE6.
I was using Opera before but I thought that its pretty stupid to have them both, so Ive chosen IE cause it came with windows (although I liked Opera better)...

Netscape...I've tried to use opera once, but my computer didn't seem to like it And for some bizarre reason, I feel a lot more secure with Netscape than with IE
