Mac-book vs Mac-book pro

I was wondering if anyone used both, and prefers one to the other or can suggest one or the other. I basically want to use one for surfing the web downloading music. And I wanna start getting into doing a little d-jaying and track production. From what I've seen thus far the only differences I see are screen size, speed, and gig space. Does anyone have a suggestion to which one I should get?

the newest white one supports 4GB RAM and 500GB HD at a 2,13GHz CPU which is the one im getting when ive saved some money. should be enough for anyone in the music-industry. Macbook Pro is meant for video, images etc imo. ud get more answers in the dj-booth or music production forum, do a search theres already a thread there by me.

If you are using it for production work etc. I would def go for the pro, if you just need it for basic things then standard is fine.

Screen size is also a consideration. Especially for production and DJing if you use a DVS like Torq or Serato, a big screen is better IMO.

Macbook Pro 15' 2.2Ghz + (or higher) C2D (Core2Duo) - will do just fine. There's no need to get the 17', it gets on the way...imo it's to big for dj'ing and such. I'd rather invest the extra cash I'm paying for the 1.9' on a wicked piece of equipment or the 3 year AppleCare.

The Macbooks are just for students, grandpa's, and such ... IMO!
great for surfing the web and playing WoW every now and then ...

Good Luck
Cheers

i had a mac pro, the reason i sold it is because there were too many things i could not use with it.

nah dude macs are the shit to me. Even more so for djing. Seriously you ever see Sasha rocking a dell? Heck no cause pcs suck, I'm done with them all the windows updates that are full of more viruses then a 3rd world country its absurd. I'm sure your pimped out pc is nice, but its gonna get a virus sooner or later macs seldom ever do if at all. Plus apple has amazing customer support.

The only people that get viruses are the one's that deserve to get viruses.

macs dont get viruses because their machine can be hijacked without a virus present.

i still want to grab one for developing something for the iphone/ipod
