Euphoric/Uplifting trance

Hello fellow TA'ers, just wondering what's with the shortage of some nice euphoric/ melodic, uplifting trance these days. There seems to be a lot of techno and progressive stuff around but it's very difficult to find the uplifting stuff - you know - the early morning 3am to 5am sets. I personally prefer the melodic/harmonious sound that lifts you up and carries you onwards into a state of trance. I know lots of people like the hard, banging stuff but I get the feeling that a lot of stuff nowadays is cold and hard and there is no love or warmth in it. Anybody else feel like that?

Cheers.
Flynno.

There's plenty of it around, just that it seems to be a sin to talk about it on here these days without a hundred melon heads firing unicorn references at you

I'm not a huge fan of the big-supersaw-riff style of trance, but I understand where you're coming from. I too like melodies and stuff that lifts my mood, like these:

Visions of Shiva - "Perfect Night"
Resistance D - "Skyline" (Bytes Mix)
Degeneration - "Una Musica Senza Ritmo" (Nina In Trance Mix)
Bedrock - "Set In Stone"
Young American Primitive - "These Waves" (not trance but definitely carefree and uplifting)
William Orbit - "Water From A Vine Leaf" (Xylem Flow Mix) (prog house but has "trancey" sounds)

Seems to me most of today's stuff doesn't have the same vibes of these, but it could be I'm just not looking in the right places. I love some house and techno but for me nothing in dance music beats trance when it's at its best.

Yep I agree fellas - all yummy. I know for a fact that there are some brilliant djs and producers on TA. So how about somebody put such a set together for TA. Any takers?

Cheers

It's an old-school trance set, it has some really nice tracks, and they're definitely warm and melodic.

I just managed to get hold of a Roger Shah set from Afterhours FM 3rd Anniversary. In general a nice uplifting set with some big-room tunes in there.

AVB will be playing here in a week's time (Cape Town, South Africa). The last time he was here he played at a hard house club and I can't say I enjoyed it. So I hope this time he treats us to some nice trancers.

Can't wait for Ferry Corsten to stop by again.

Cheers fellas. Thanks for the feedback and input and keep the good tunes and vibes going strong.

Flynno
