The thing about living in cheap countries, like eastern European countries or developing Asian nations is that you have to have made your income before you go there as one of the reasons its cheap to live there is the stagnate or developing economies.

The cost of living usually goes up with the economy.

I'd look at Eastern Europe, places like Montenegro or some of the other new countries in the Balkans. Granted safety can be a concern in some of them. My dad went to Montenegro for a few weeks a couple years ago though and said its a wonderful country.

In Asia, Thailand, Vietnam, or even Cambodia would work out well. Stay away from hookers and closets though. Even into the southern Asian nations near Oceania.

in visiting my relatives, i've found the food cheap. but i hear rent and other real estate related costs are through the roof.
