Platinum Notes

Is this thing worth a crap? Judging it by its cover it looks like a waste of $100

Platinum Notes makes your tracks sound incredibly smooth. Designed by professional DJs and musicians, Platinum Notes improves your files and gives them warmth, perfect volume, and correct pitch. It removes distortion and clipped peaks.

You can sit back while Platinum Notes scans your entire music collection and generates perfect music files that will keep the dance floor bouncing.

LOL

It does have an iZotope engine, but me thinks this thing just does a little amplitude adjusting

it's alright, pretty good if you have some crackled up tracks or something!

not sure it's worth it if you are using all new tunes etc anyway, but yes, essentially it's a device for making all tunes the same volume etc...

It's for the lazy.

Sounds like absolute horseshit.

Reminds me of Har-bal. I tried it out once but wasn't impressed.

+1.

I use MP3Gain for normalizing my tracks (I then use Live to make finer volume adjustments). And besides PSP VW on the master for live sets, I don't apply any further processing to already-polished tunes.

It will CORRECT THE PITCH OF DIGITALLY GENERATED SIGNALS

Mine detects breakdowns and builds. It then automatically adds subliminal messages and advanced frequency thing-a-magics to your tracks to cause dance floor participants to spontaneously orgasm at the peak of a build.

Oh and I'm selling it for 94 dollars. You save $4!

on the topic of warmth, what do you guys do to replicate that warm analog feel (tips/vstis)?

I use an analog synth.

Try it!

Saturators, slight distortion, analog modeled compressors or eqs, there are tons of ways to give that impression. Experiment!

I use open flames to get that warmth.

Run your material through an analogue mixer and back out and try to clip it a bit... Or just engineer your sounds right from the start I guess...

You don't need to do that. It's added automatically when you burn it to CD.

That's digital warmth, the real analog warmth comes from carving it to vinyl.
