Well, I speak french so maybe i can help you.

You haven't to prononce the "x" of "Saux". So, as your 2nd idea, you have to say: "manuel le soh".

Gooey Bore-a-toe.

no it's not.

It's with a short G and the u is silent like "guee". It's a common Brazilian nickname to Guilherme. Sort of sounds like the "gui" in "guilty". And Bo-Rah-Toe with a shorter "t" and the common portuguese "r" pronunciation.

Yes, he must. Or maybe he's insecure about the real pronunciation. Ask him.

What does the 'gui' from 'guilty' sound like? As far as I'm concerned, 'guilty' is pronounced 'giltee', which would translate as 'gee' or 'gi', just like jupiterone said.

I've always pronounced it 'gwi bor-ah-toe', but I was always unsure whether that was correct or not.

I meant with a short g not the j sounding g. Guh Guh.

But 'guilty' is a hard/strong 'g', just like in 'go'. You don't say 'jilty'. Or maybe you do?

However, if you're talking about the 'guh' sound, does that mean it's pronounced 'guh-you-ee', with the 'i' emphasised similarly to that of 'in'?
