i first got into raving about 5 years ago and at first i did not even know anything about the music,i just went there to get high.i got pretty bad and sent myself to therapy.as i started going to more raves i started getting into the music and collecting records and cds.i am now into mixing myself and i am totally sober,i even go to partys sober,i am just there because i love the music,people think that all ravers do drugs but they dont and i am living proof
if anyone else feels the same way please tell me.

unfortunately i don't go to parties sober but i have a lot of respect for people that do and have just as much fun as i do. my gf and i go to parties all the time, it's usually me and my buddies that get into the silly shit (drugs) and there is my gf sober as a whistle and dancing as hard as i am!! a lot of respect to ya jeremy

i thank u for the respect!I used to go and get into the silly shit to,i just went to far with it so i got help.i dont look down on anyone for doing it,just know your limits.now when i go to parties i dont spend the whole time looking for drugs,i get to know people and talk about music,i also go there to perform with glowsticks on strings becausse every party i go to now people know me and the beg me to do it.I like it because i am good at it and i like the attention.

free rolls just for the plain and simple fact that i loved being there seeing so many people i really appreciate and all the peeps havin fun there..i loved feeling and knowing that its right pure and moving, ten times better than any roll, it was great.

sugar,to me the music is more intense than any drug i have ever taken and i am here to support the music all the way without drugs.although i might drink every now and then but i dont even like drinking,i only do it cause my girl is always like,just have a few drinks with me

ive been raving almost 5 years clean. never have done any drugs...well, there was that one time in high school. anyways, i have just as much fun as the next guy. the music is my drug.

I always club and rave sober. I've found I have a much deeper appreciation for things in my normal state of mind than I do while it's on other substances. To each their own.

yep! i agree with all of you and just first off. propz to you jeremy for recognizing the problem and doing something about it. this thread was a coincidence cause i was having a conversation with a friend about drug abuse at raves and shit like that. and yeah, i can relate to ya. i remember burnin' out on e and shit in the past because a) i was still an e virgin and b) being high on narcotics was much better than bein' high on the atmosphere in the club. boy was i wrong. .being on a musical high and havin' your state of consciousness elevated by the crowd is a muuuuch better feelin' in my opinion than any kinda high drugs can give ya. and like sugah said, i too have been to more raves and parties sober than not. i dunno, usin' the drugs at raves isn't bad, i'm not against it at all. ODing however, is the worst possible feelin' ever. nasty. though i will pop a pill or two every now and then, that would be like 1 party out of 15 or something. anyway, i'm gonna get off my soapbox now and i believe this is the first message i haven't laughed in.

I got into the rave scene with the wrong impression, doing drugs as a reason to go parties. I then went sober to one, and the feeling I got was much better than any drug (plus I had more $$ after the event, and didn't feel like poop) I have been going sober for such a long time, and don't regret a second.

Those that go only to get high, I think that's sad. I also think it's sad that people can only go to a party when they are high on something....weak.

oh yeah!

i love to party sober. i take drugs sometimes to enjoy the drug not to enjoy the party! and i think people that have to be on something to go to a rave just dont need to be there. if its not fun for you sober then its not for you. having fun is something we can create for ourselves we shouldnt have to put something in our bodys to do it. peace!

lol i'm always goin partyin whilst sober.. well most of da time n e wayz..
unless for some reason i get drunk before lol.. but thats rare hehe..

heheheh. i can't really stand being drunk...takes the fun out of whatever you're doing cause you don't know what you're doing.

Yeah - I hate being drunk, takes a lot of effort too.

Not interested in drugs, so yeah I always party straight. One of the best things is not having to come down - helped a few friends on some hard comedowns - not pretty!!

Also - if I go to a party I can keep going on a good hit of caffeine!! Atleast until like 6-7am - then like to just calm down, enjoy the music a bit more. My best effort would have to be a 9:45am finish. I was stuffed by the end of that one - my gf and I ended up spending 23.5hrs in bed after that one! Only got up to eat for like 10 minutes!!! lol

Good thing about not using drugs = can go to sleep after a long night!!!

i have never taken drugs..in Ultra i had the most fun ever and I didnt even dance...Hey Jeremy welcome to TA....need anything let me know.

hey guy im sure they are just being friendly, nothing to get too upset about. i could see how it could get a little annoying but to the point of writing about it? cmon. theyre not trying to offend you. why hate ravers when ravers dont hate?

naw then they be like...aww u goto raves and so on....then the frist question they ask is do u drop ...i'm like wtf i love the music..thats all..hehe he is my friend htough..

Still it's hard to keep on going without any. Here in Holland drugs and parties are used in the same sentence. You can always try eco-drugs that give you a energy-kick.

word!! smokin' it up is such a nice feelin' after a hugeass rave...especially near dawn when your ears are still pounding and melodies are still ringing and you're by the harbourfront here in toronto. =) hehe. anyway...

& then the tiredness kicks in... a wonderful trip of happy trees & happy creatures, playing all day in the sun, with a snowy mountaintop here, and a lill drummer boy over there... OMFG, im starting to sound like that afro-white painting guy... forgot his name at the moment...
