Hey Mathias, I had a chance to listen this morning on the way to work. Technically and conceptually, this mix is nothing short of outstanding. I mean while listening to this, I couldn't help but imagine how big your affinity with electronic music is. This doesn't sound like it would be made by somebody whose only been listening to edm for the past 2, 3 or probably even 5 years. You really appreciate music and trust me, this mix really shows. To be perfectly honest, I don't know if I would listen or purchase most of these tracks on my own accord. They're pretty quirky and in some cases just downright odd (at least the first half, you definitely seemed to have taken a more straight-cut path during the second half), but in the context of this mix I could appreciate them.

So all in all, many of the tracks may not be my cup of tea, but I don't care, because this mix is fucking sick.

Adam,

thank you. that is hands down on the best reviews i have had the pleasure of reading in a very long time. thank you for taking the time to check the mix out. a lot experience and loved went into this one and im pleased that you could gather it. cheers.

Yep and I really mean it. This set is deep as f*ck. Already planning a 3rd listen as there's no way I was able to take everything in during the first two. btw you have to ID the song that's playing at around the 1 hour 8 minute mark. Thanks.

I listened to this on the car on my way back home from work but couldn't finish it. The first half or so was totally unexpected. Awesome stuff that you don't get to hear often on sets. I thought the way you begin to work in the beats into the mix is pretty dope. I'll have to listen to the whole thing this week and post comments later

As has already been stated, the first half was amazing. The other stuff at the end was nice, but I honestly would've preferred an entire set of music like the stuff in the beginning.

Also, how is the Akai controller? I just got the uc-33e and it's alright, but the eqs are dodgy. I'm completely new to ableton so maybe it's just the eqs in ableton itself, but they seem rather mid-sensitive.

Nice yeah. Yeah its one of those things that its really hard to to gauge how people are going to take that type of stuff. Its sort of you either get it or you don't, very happy you could enjoy it. The set if very close to my opening set recently for my good friend Mathew Leutwyler. Very slow build of electronica moving slowly into more danceable, shoe-string tech. Looking forward to what you think when you finish with it, thanks for the feedback and cheers.

Ah, Matthew was here in Guatemala some time ago but I wasn't able to go to his gig. Tell him I hope he comes back soon

Thanks for the listen! I think one of these days i will do an entire set with that style just wanted this to be more of a progression type set.

The akai is amazing. Only issue i have with it is the inability to eq two tracks at the same time, it has been driving me nuts. Thanks for checking the mix out and such. cheers.

You can't eq two tracks at once Meaning you're mixing a track in you can't fade the high's of one track out while you're bringing the high's of another in?

Faaaaailllllllll.

Downloading this as word of mouth is this is amazing, and I'm intreaged (sp, drunk!) as to what an Akai mix can do. Comments in a few days

Agree. This looks nice!
Downloading now.

Thanks to everyone else that has downloaded it. Just had a chance to check this thread again. Hope you enjoy and feedback is always welcome.

In regards to the apc, its more geared towards live pa vs. dj so its one of the reasons why its designed that way. I am sure someone is going to find a way to get around this though using max/msp. After spinning on three/four cdj's and a looper for the last four years this was the next step. I love being able to take one step out of the equation and opening up about 15 more. Building up audio racks for each track and really breaking things apart along with adding things on the fly has been a blast.
