M.I.K.E./ Push Productions! (Help! :))
hi has anyone else noticed mike or push in his productions throws many curves at the aspiring dj
hehe my main question is how do you get around the pretty common *double beat* you hear usually on the end of every 8 or 16 beats i find it is more common in his productions... espcially in tranzy state of mind also does anyone have any ideas of how to mix in his art of trance remix i find it hard as there is such a prominant melody to begin with... usually i try to get it in after the initial melody but even then he cuts the bassline... doubles up on some of the beats like before cuts the bass some more a fair bit after that and its hard to get a smooth transition and you cant really go any futher because thats the meat of the track the awsome build up to then incredible chorus!
so anyone know what i mean
?
I guess we all have our ways to deal with those, but as for the double beat, it's kinda easy, you just need to know when it comes which means knowing your records very well... Now, all you have to do is quickly turn the low frequency EQ dial all the way down and quickly up, so when the double beat comes in it's barely heard... It's very good for MIKE, especially Push productions since the bass aint too dominant there and also doesn't ahve a lot of role in the part where the double ebat comes...
i like the double beats, it only sounds bad if u aint got em beatmatched, its like mixing the cosmic gate mix dff, thats breakbeat kicks in if u use that part (i do) and it sounds mint, although u av 2 cut it out where it goes "DFF" coz it adds beats, so it goes off time. but thats only my opinion
