Eddie Halliwell

I've never seen/heard him mix before, nor have I heard a production from him. I'll be seeing him in Austin for Future Fest and I heard he is going to rock the house. I dig a lot of sub-genres of EDM, but tech-trance is definitely one of my favorites, so I hope he plays some. I suppose we'll see. Any thoughts/comments?

Eddie Halliwell is probably the best turntablelist at this moment, along with Zabiela and Carl Cox. And yes, he has got no productions. Make sure you check youtube for some vids

I agree he does get it appallingly wrong sometimes though

I'm of the opinion that if scratching does not have a beat with it or create a beat then it sounds like 20 hungry cats stuffed in a box and beaten. The beginning sounded so bad. Who wants to stop dancing and listen to that?

The man has hammered Traffic and Lethal Industry for years, which are not only old as fuck, but simply awful. And even if he did play a good track or two, it is irrelevant since he will rape them with his "skills" and turn them into unlistenable garbage.

It was something new when we first heard him because he went to the extreme, yes he does rape tracks and its getting old very fast, and the fact he has no productions of his own means he will probly fade away very fast... unless he sticks to 'mixing' and lays of the efx

I feel like him doing his "schtick" is exactly what's KEEPING him around though.

His first essential mix from around 2003 is fantastic, well worth a listen..

I've enjoyed everytime I have seen him. He does get it wrong sometimes and a lot of times actually, but when he gets it right, it sounds fantastic, his sets really get the crowd going. Like other people have said, if he gets the balance right hes a hell of a dj and he puts on a hell of a show.

Hit n miss really, but more often than not he delivers.

Zabiela is fun to watch as a DJ, but doesn't do it much for me as far as what he plays. Too droning.

agree about zabiela but eddie can out mix anyone ive seen.
