FTA - Dish/Bell gone N3...What do we do now?!

Well Bell already did it, DISH is in the process and almost done it... all the pron, international and most of the 100's and 200's have made the switch...soon it will be no more.

What do we do now? Is there any N3 boxes out there on the horizon?

LIST OF THE CHANNELS THAT MOVED TO N3

I know it's summer, so it ain't ALL that important, but I hope they get this N3 done by Fall/Winter!

as far as n3 goes, we still dont know for sure what hardware will be required. chances are we will be able to continue using existing STB's... we just need the software that supports hacked n3 encryption. treat this swap the same as when dish/bev did the n1 to n2 swap: have patience and wait to see what happens.

nfusion has a "n3 fix" for bev but its not a true n3 fix. it is not a real encryption hack. it is just card-sharing so you dont get PPV or porn. i dont trust anything that runs IKS.

I got out when the HU went down.

But I'll prolly be back once this last big hit gets fixed.

who cares its the summer! no tv shows on.

As long i get to watch the end of hockey finals....the rest I grab online.

Weeds/Worst week/Intervention and some docus. It should be back for primetime season (my hope)

what does he need to know? FTA stuff? or CAM testing (with card)?
fta is the most popular these days because everybody and their grandmother can do it.

China will know when..

i just bought the iHub for my sonicview 8000hd frmo ebay for $100. i should have it in my hands early next week. apparently all channels on dish that are n3 work (except cinemax and high def) and all channels on bev that are n3 are working (regular SD, porn, HD channels... just no ppv)

i will update the situation once i get it installed.

my translation of this = bleeh blah blah bleeh bleeh blah, etc etc.

Can anyone just say whats going on in lamans terms? Does this mean I have to get a new box thingy or sattelite thingy? Or does this only concern the nerd's with some kind of ridiculous un necessary over technical setup and/or stolen signal.?

if you want tv back right now then you will have to get the iHub. ihub only work with sonicview 360 premiere, sonicview 360 elite and sonicview 8000hd. if you do not own one of these receivers then you cannot use ihub.

otherwise, you will just have to wait and see what happens. we should be able to use existing hardware once a n3 hack is released, whenever that may be.

perfect. all you would need is a 4 port switch.

Posted by chinamon on Jun-19-2009 19:06:

so far ive found a few channels working on dishnet... 105 (usa), 136 (fx), 138 (tnt), 139 (tbs), 168 (spike), 140 (espn), 150 (speed), 151 (outdoor life), 170 (nickelodeon), hbo's...

more channels are added pretty often once they get them decrypted.

there are more channels working with expressvu but i dont have that set up.

Rogers just pulled off all the traps at my podium
Either they are replacing ACI's with theirs soon, now that they bought them out, or maybe they removed the traps for when I get my Rogers home phone installed next week. Any ideas? Either way... It seems like I have free cable tv for at least a week.

still no n3 hack yet.
my ihub died on me. it wont even power up.

BALLS! Still doesn't really matter as there is another month of summer or so, but new seasons start again come Sept and shit, hoped there would be a solution by then. Got the offer to split on a legit subscription stateside with multiple receivers and bring one or two over, but don't want to go that route unless absolutely necessary...

Cheap bastard!!! Best solution and the costs are decent no worries of it crashing and wasting $$$$

I <3 my PPV, Premium Stations and like having it full out wide open for everything (and pr0n)... factor all those costs in and it's quite expensive!

you must watch a lot of porn.

i dont even really watch much tv. i do it because i used to be in the business and enjoy the hobby of testing. i miss testing with a CAM. fta is such childs play.

Posted by SkyHigh on Aug-20-2009 20:19:

As far as i know nfusion is the best box out there right now. With almost all the channels. No PPV tho . But lots of premium porn channels.
