Pregnancy Question

First of all... I am not pregnant.

I was just wondering when, on average, do you get your first ultrasound? Like, at how many weeks?

For those of you who can't be or haven't been pregnant, feel free to recall on someone elses experience.

I am asking because I suspect a girl in one of my classes is faking a pregnancy. Yea, I know that's a horrible thing to think, but according to her math, she is 13 weeks pregnant, and has yet to get an ultrasound. Seems fishy to me. Not to mention she just coincidentally "got pregnant" when her boyfriend was ending the relationship... but of course "the baby" has saved them.

Which while that topic is up, WTF is up with these crazy ass bitches?! LOL!

I believe you can see a pregnancy in an ultrasound as early as 2 weeks, maybe 3.

Most women have at least one done by 20 weeks.

It's common enough to get them earlier than that, but I don't think it's considered necessary to do so.

13 weeks is about...what 3 months? Wouldn't she be showing around 3 months?

Depends. If she's fat there might not be much of a perceptible difference.

Do you know her boyfriend? You should tell him of your suspicions. If not for his sake, for the lulz.

Yea, I am pretty sure you can see very early in the pregnancy.

Hmmm, that seems late to me. I dunno, 20 weeks is 5 months... what if you were having an ectopic pregnancy? I thought for safety sake they would check...

This. She is on the chubbier side, so you can't see any change really. Funny thing is, she has taken a "pregnant" photo shot from the side and it just looks like she's a chunker... not pregnant.

I'd really like to. In fact, there are a few things I would like to tell him. She openly admitted to cheating on him, she lies to him about going to school and what her grades are like etc. I suspect she might be a little bit looped.

If I was about to break up with a girl and she pulled the whole im pregnant thing, I would be much more likely to push her off a cliff than stay and raise the baby. Nothing says fuck off and leave me better than pregnancy. This automatic assumption that chicks have that us guys want to stick around and do the right thing makes me laugh. I really couldnt give a shit. I would have no more attachment to my child with an unloved partner than I would a piece of furniture.

Then again im a bit of a sociopath.

They might do it earlier if you're having symptoms of ectopic pregnancy. I don't think it's routine, though.

What I've heard, from someone else, mind you, and not anything you'd be able to find on Google (I've tried and all I get is a stupid pop-psychology book and a presumably off-Broadway play) is that such a contrivance has something to do with what's called a Wendy Complex in which Wendy, our would-be mother, feigns pregnancy or becomes pregnant, in order to secure the affections of the no longer interested Peter Pan (Daddy!).

That said, I seem to remember that you're a pre-school teacher. I realize that the average age of first-time sexual congress gets younger but that's a bit ridiculous, don't you think?

No, I am not a pre-school teacher - would like to be one day. I am still going to school.

Yea, she is a bit of a c*nt.

Yesterday we were outside and this woman walked by with her dog in a stroller. On the front of the stroller it said "I am a seizure dog", and this bitch had the audacity to be like "stupid people putting their dogs in strollers. What the hell is the matter with you, it isn't a baby."

I immediately replied and said "that woman has seizures... the dog is in the carriage because she needs it with her at all times to alert her of when she is going to have an episode."

She just turned to me in the snarkiest tone said "it doesn't matter, people put their dogs in strollers even if they don't have seizures, and it's stupid.".

I agree with that, but don't make your c*nty comments in front of someone who has a medical condition. What an ignorant bitch.

The dog knows when she's going to have a seizure? That's amazing.

Yea, apparently the dog can sense it and then starts barking or something to try and alert the human who is going to have the seizure.

I dunno... I didn't make it up. LOL!

the same way stu's birds can tell when its rape time.

Posted by Silky Johnson on Jun-11-2009 02:24:

What good does knowing when a seizure will happen do? It's not like you can prevent it from happening. Sounds fucking stupid.

And if I recall correctly, 6 weeks is typically the earliest an ultrasound will be done. I will double check when I get home.

And yeah, your friend is a fucking idiot. Why would you even condone this bitch's behaviour by helping her lie?

edit: nm, I didn't read your whole post.
