[REVIEW] Gareth Emery w/ Zack Roth
Seeing that I just got home after a 4 hour drive to the Cuse, I might as well start this one.
Got there in time to catch the last 45 minutes of Zack's set. Quite thorough if I do say so myself. *edit* It was more than thorough. it was UBER thorough.
I thought Emery opened up real hard. Got the crowd's juices pumpin. I could only really stay inside for about 30 minutes at a time cause it was so freakin hot, but I thought he banged out nicely. Once I found that spot next to the booth where the AC was it got MUCH better (right Z?). lol.
I think the quote was, "that set was UBER dank."
it was nice seeing people I knew/hadn't seen in a while and meeting others. Props to the birfday boy.
Anyways, I'm tired as fuck and plan on lounging poolside for the rest of the day.

Great night. had a blast. good seeing everyone. Zack and Gareth Emery played an excellent set. My favorite track of the night was Lonely Girl.
My alcohol creeped up on me and i got really sick out of nowhere so my night went south the 2nd half of the night. I couldnt even stand. Lucky for me, my friends were there so I was able to get a ride home. Public transportation woulda been hell.

Zack's set was terrific, and I agree that Gareth's highlight was the Lonely Girl remix. Also, "Faces" was a powerful intro track. Wish I could see you all at Love tonight, but have a friend's b-day to attend back in Philly.
OMG! I am completely blown away. Now this is TRANCE! Definitely want to see him performing in NY again very soon, and may be next time at a bigger venue.

definitely a fun party made a last minute decision to go and glad i did. only negatives was it was hot and that it ended at 4:00, would have loved to see that go another 2hrs. really good debut party for emery.
zack was great but by now do we expect any less? i think not

Ahh!! once again the jealous elyse is happy to hear and see what a good time it was! If i wasnt moving to Vegas it would be NYC for sure!!!... Aghh.. I woulda gone to this but i had to work and i need money to fund my cross country move. hahah..

I knew from the buzz going in that Friday was going to be a really good night, but I definitely wasn't expecting a turnout like that. By about 12:15 the place was packed, and it didn't clear out til Gareth played his last track. Speaking of Emery, the guy turned it out on Friday. Really cool guy too. I definitely hope he gets his ass back here somewhat soon...hopefully sometime in the Fall.
Thanks to everyone who came out early for my set too btw. That was one of the more fun gigs I have played in recent memory.
I got a few PMs asking about certain tracks I played. I'll try and piece together a full tracklist and get it up in a bit.

Friday night was soo much fun!! It was really interesting to see how well trance worked at cielo and I seriously have never seen the place that packed before!! All the TA's were out, loved it!
You would think I would be used to hearing Zack open things up by now and that I could somewhat predict what he would play but honestly I am more impressed and intrigued (as a dj) every time he plays. Friday he just seemed like he was in a groove with his mixing, so many mixes were like 2, 3 minutes long! The movement of his set was really a perfect fit for cielo and I think he set Gareth up really nicely. Gareth seems like such a nice, cool guy!! He came on and within moments of mixing in his first track he had that place in the palm of his hands! Really liked his sound, played a lot of vocal tracks but actually the tracks that stood out to me as being really sick tracks were the non-vocal tracks! I def hope he comes back soon! I have some pics and vids I will be posting later.

I saw Rank 1 in Atlanta on Thursday, then drove to the airport from the club to fly to NYC for some Gareth Emery and Sean Tyas. Emery's show was definitely the highlight of my weekend. I started rocking out at 10:30pm when the door opened up until the bouncer kindly asked us all to leave at 4:00am. Thankfully I had about five seconds to desperately encourage Gareth to visit us tranceaddicts down in the ATL.
Zack, great opening set! I intended to conserve some energy for the main event, but the progression was one of the best I've heard in a while, and I couldn't help but enjoy the warmup. Track listings or recordings would be much appreciated.
Thanks for posting the videos and photos. I took some myself, but they're mostly too blurry due to involuntary dancing.
epic night. it was our first time at cielo and can not wait to go back again! Gareth dropped everything i could've asked for and more had me cheeeesin all night lol. great show great crowed. and it was nice meeting you zack!
