Hauntings

so the hotel i work at is an old building and there is a doorbell at the front desk window that is connected to a cordless phone that rings when the doorbell is rung. this is in case no one is at the front desk and you have the cordless phone and you'll know someone is there and needs assistance.

there is a "phantom ring" that just rings once in a while but no one is at the window because it'll happen when i'm sitting right there at the desk.

so my boss tells me all that above right? and i'm like, "oh that's weird" but not really thinking too much of it. then the other day she tells me how a man was found dead in one of the hotel rooms. he was a priest who vacationed there every year. one of those snowbirds that got the same apartment every year for 3 weeks. anyway he always said that the hotel was the "closest place to heaven he could think of". so then i was like, "omg the phantom ring! it's him!"

now....get this. the microwave in the kitchen just starts randomly beeping on its own all crazy sometimes and i had to unplug it today. she said it does that sometimes. today when it happened, i swear to god it sounded like morse code

what do you guys think?

I think you've seen too many movies... lol. I'd only start freaking out if the microwave started beeping after you unplugged it.

Clearly a case for Ghost Hunters, "The beeping microwave mystery".

Call one of those shitty "haunting" shows so they can come in with cameras and look concerned for 60 minutes and then leave.

Or reenact it with F-Grade actors. How would you like some butterface from Alabama to play you?

DAT DER MICROWAVE JUST ASTARTED BEEPIN!

*cue eerie music*

I wouldn't attribute anything electrical related to ghosts.

why not? i think ghosts are pretty much forms of energy and can use electronics to communicate.

duh everyone knows that somebody obviously slept through ghost busters

I say confront it! Go to the room where the guy died at midnight when you're all alone. Be sure to stupidly yell "Hello? Is somebody there?" like the dumb movie chicks and hopefully you'll indeed witness some paranormal phenomena. Then make a thread about it.

It sounds like this place is having a minor haunting and that you are being targeted due to a fear of ghosts. The ghosts feed off that energy of fear. You should call in "Ghost Adventures," the crew and have them investigate.

get a different microwave & see if it still happens.

electrical shit malfunctions all the time. Random door slamming and shit moving in the air never happens. So if it does happen, then... its a ghost

Changing air pressure can do this easily. I've been freaked out by this a few times.

Light a bunch of white candles all over the place and that should keep the ghosts away.

People die in hotels all of the time.

And surprises with the phone should be the last on your list of supernatural suspicions - hotel phone numbers get out to allllllll sorts of businesses, automated and otherwise. Stray rings are common as hell on my hotel's phone system as well.

If the microwave keeps beeping even after you've unplugged it, make another thread, obviously.

i believe in that kinda stuff...i went to a really old catholic highschool and in the 60s and bunch of priests hung themselves in the living quarters attached to the chapel...sometimes during saturday school they would send a couple kids in there to clean up and shit, and we would hear doors opening, footsteps and shit like that...no one else was in the building as we were given keys to get in and lock up on our way out...who knows, maybe it's because it was an old building, but it scared the hell out of me...
