How low can you go? Italians and the world cup!

Posted by Trancer85 on Jun-21-2002 17:30:

I believe the president was very immature and it doesnt make any sense

Posted by Michael Russo on Jun-21-2002 18:12:

Trancer85 is the immature one (read his other posts).

And first of all, thats how life works. The coach did nothing wrong. You're playing for an italian club, it's your job to pursue italy's best interests. End of story.

wurd ! that player didn't have money to buy himself a sandwich before he signed to Perugia

Posted by ampburner on Jun-21-2002 18:51:

haha lol the perugia president is another sore italian l0ser Get over it guys esp like the replie from the italian TA's that statement by the president was soooo unprofessional. What do you guys expect?
the Serie A is full of pro football players from other countries. Did you really expect that all the other teams in the WC were gonna let you win because they have players in the serie A and...

Oh and Michael Russo... I totally disagree with that quote...well almost...except for the "end of story" part FOR ITALY.

It's a game man, chill!

The funniest part is that with articles like these, Perugia are giving Ahn so much free media attention, that he can easily find another club (way better than perugia )

Posted by Michael Russo on Jun-21-2002 20:08:

yeah, you're right, but i was pissed cause little issues like this get blown so far out of proportion.

the coach has a point. i mean, haven't seen this guy play in the italian league, but if the president of the club feels that ahn wasn't giving his best to his club then that's fair enough, let him go... i'm sure other clubs will want him.

yes but THAT is not his point. He says it is, but it obviously isn't. if it were, he would have made that decision a long time ago, at least before the start of the WC. he didn't so this is obviously a case of unprofessional, childish behavior.

(otherwise I would have agreed with you )

who cares, soccer is very important in italy and italians don't like him so he shouldn't play in italy... that's the way things work

Posted by ampburner on Jun-21-2002 23:22:

lol, got a point there!

Posted by Vivid Boy on Jun-21-2002 23:33:

perugia's coach is toally right...ur paying this guy millions of dollars to perform for ur club team...he doesnt perform at all...world cup comes around and all of a sudden hes a superstar? and hes getting paid 0$ for being in the world cup? u can his ass...i hope they do the same to the brazilian players as well...because each and every single brazilian player had their worst career year this year in the serie A teams that they played on and now all of a sudden theyre amazing thats bullshit...if ur a club and ur paying these players the amounts theyre getting paid u want them performing that same way all the time...its ridiculous...

i wonder where u come from

Posted by dJohn on Jun-22-2002 01:17:

Damn...that's pretty fucked up if you asked me.
Then again, I feel the president of that club.
But still. That's pretty bitterness, and taking your anger out by releasing him? How immature.
Somebody should give the man some lollypops...maybe that'll quit his crying.

Posted by venomX on Jun-22-2002 06:13:

none of u seem to know any italian ppl the ones i know say that they change their wife before there football team so go figure anyways the owner is the OWNER of the team so he can pretty much do anything he likes so why argue about it

Posted by Strike on Jun-22-2002 06:21:

i felt it was an immature decision
but...the man sure holds grudges

Posted by Mark on Jun-22-2002 08:26:

under those standards, everyone from team canada playing in a US city should be released to free agency. i mean, we did kick their ass in the gold medal game of the olympics. right?

this is obviously an act of SOUR GRAPES and i think its almost laughable at how the italians are reacting on their loss to korea. i read in the papers today that the italian media is going to sue fifa because of the poor officiating that resulted in their country's early exit. this early exit may affect a loss in advertising revenue.

i think thats bullshit. poor officiating has always been a part of every single major league sport on this planet. the NHL, NBA, NFL and MLB all have had their fair share of officiating problems. it is human nature. people make mistakes. we do not have cyborgs running around making the right calls 100% of the time. there are bound to be flaws. if you can make a case for that, how many lawsuits do you think we would have in our 4 major league sports in north america?

anyway back to the original topic. i can understand why they wouldn't want to keep the korean player on their team but i question the timing of this decision. the guy is still playing for a world cup. if he had any class at all, he would have announced his decision after the tournament.

Posted by ampburner on Jun-22-2002 09:32:

lol did you see korea vs spain....hahahah Ahn couldn't care less about perugia right now!

GO KOOOOOREAAAa, GO KOOOOOREAAAa, GO KOOOOOREAAAa, GO KOOOOOREAAAa!!!!

Posted by eLe_vatE on Jun-22-2002 09:39:

wow, I've heard of bad losers, but Italy are something different altogether. They seriously expected Ahn not to try because he played for an Italian club, thats fucking pathetic Italy were outplayed and deserved to go out cos frankly they're the most boring team to watch EVER, sit back and defend a 1-0 lead for 70 mins against a team thats constantly on the attack nice move

hahahahhaha

i bet if an italian player was playing for korea and he was released by korea IF ITALY won
you guys would be thinking totally differently
