Dog Running Why DJ Shah changed his name to 'Roger Shah'?

Does anyone of you know? Any insider news? Does he wanted to sound more Amsterdamish?

I think he realised having DJ in your artist name doesn't increase restecp.

True. The same way tiesto dropped his "DJ" in his name.

Posted by adi_hanson on Jun-21-2009 09:01:

probably got sick of people instantly dropping there head to the side and cupping there left hand over the ear whilst rubbing thin air with the right hand everytime he told someone he was a DJ.

And plus DJ tags are so generic these days.

sorta like ,
Who are you?

DJ gizmo

Oh

(man starts cupping ear with head to the side whilst rubbing air spinning in circles)

Dj gizmo thinks he needs a proper name

And both party's leave the scene thinking each other is a dickhead.

Should start a campaign for people to come up with original names , and to drop that DJ tag!

Fixed.

He thinks everybody knows him so he doesn't need DJ in his name any more, perhaps?

It's because he are serious musician now, so having a no-serious name like 'DJ Shah' just won't do. 'Roger Shah' are most serious name.

Perhaps why Armin Van Buuren became 'Armin' or why Prince became 'the artist formerly known as...'

In all reality perhaps he signed his name to a label. If that was the case then he wouldn't be able to use it elsewhere so would have to use another alias, but does it really matter?

"Insider news"? Fuck off. Who cares, honestly? It's just a name. Hell, Ricardo Villalobos could go by "Leopold Leotard III" and he'd still be just as fucking fantastic.

It's not his new name, it's his old, real name.

A remix of Funkagenda has been released recently (1 or 2 months ago), on GU. And 2 remixes will be released this summer (one on Toes in the Sand, my first label, and the other on Proton).
And I'm working hard on a new album too.
