::::::::. **** TA Genre Challenge, Round 3 **** .::::::::

Seems like some people are interested in a third round, so here we go. If you don't know the rules already please read the following carefully.

Brief Summary:
TA DJs can participate in this challenge. If you do so, you'll be given a randomly selected genre and have to make a mix of that.
Here's how it works in detail.

Step 1: Registration
If you want to participate post in this thread and name a genre that you want to include in the challenge. This must be a genre that is not already named by another participant. Use only EDM genres and don't select anything extremely weird, rare or specific. I'll keep an updated list of accepted people and genres. You can't add a genre without participating or participate without adding a genre. Also, post in such a way that your intentions are clear.
Registration will be open until this friday (26.06.) 13:00 (GMT+1:00).

Step 2: Drawing
After the registration closes there will be 24 hours of time when you may do two things:
1) Withdraw from the challenge. (If you don't like the genre list, are too busy, entered accidentally, etc.)
2) If you have successfully participated in a previous round you can name one genre from the list you do not want to mix. I'll consider this in the drawing.
Entering is not possible anymore in this stage. The drawing will be posted on saturday (27.06) 13:00 (GMT+1:00).

Step 3: Mixing
Your mix should be between 30 and 80 minutes long. The deadline for submitting them is in 6 weeks, on saturday, 08.08.09This is a strict time limit, later submissions will not be considered.
You're also supposed to offer the person who'll mix the genre you brought in some help if required and give him a short feedback on how well he did.

Looking forward to these.

I'll skip out on this one, since I didn't finish the last one and I barely made it on the first one. Once I get the work on my new house done, I'll enter again (assuming there are more).

I'm in, again... my pick for genre once again is 2-step garage... since David unfortunately didn't finish the last one (which I was looking forward to hearing!)

Holy crap, another one already? Jesus, give us another few months to recuperate!

Happy Hardcore

[N]k|[Z] was bitching around that it should start asap since he missed the last one. It's all his fault!

Sorry about that.

I still might do it anyway though.

Here I am!

Downtempo/Ambient

I wonder if someone will post Trance this time...

# Schranz
# Disco House
# 2-Step Garage
# Happy Hardcore
# Trancy Breaks
# Downtempo/Ambient

I actually like all these genres, except for possibly trancey breaks.

This sounds like fun acctually, I'll try.

Nu Jazz

I'd like to see how it turned out the last couple of times, where can I find the thread (I can't find them by search)

You have to make it difficult, don't you?
Before I add that I'd indeed like to see the massive genre debate, because I have no idea wtf Skweee is.
So can someone confirm that it's a suitable genre?

Although it sounds like dubstep fucked a Gameboy, yes, I'd say it's a genre.

I'm not in this one since I'll be in Italy enjoying sole, gelato e vino, maybe next time.

My 2 cents; it's vague. I don't know if there are a lot of releases. And from what tunes I've heard, it's minimal as all fucked.

Here's a myspace of a record company that releases it:
http://www.myspace.com/flogstadanshall

I hardly understand it, but it sound just fine.

Hehe, just trying to keep things fresh. If people think this is too "exotic", I'll choose something else.

Posted by Mr.Mystery on Jun-24-2009 08:27:

That's ridiculous - every difference in sound isn't a genre.
