why beatport takes off tracks from its catalogue

so now i've been searching for old tracks and i can't find them.

So they make room all that new crap they're selling maybe

juno keeps everything, try there

Removed due to re-release or removed entirely? You can notice that 'La Mezcla' isn't on Beatport anymore, but that's probably because MOS bought the rights for a re-release from Cadenza.

Yep. Same happened with Global Underground buying the rights to One Million Oaks (original mix). Only way to get it now is to buy the Jim Rivers Nubreed release.

Which is another reason why GU sucks so hard these days.

been re released by strictly rhythm.

So true. I was actually thinking about GU the other day, and how they completely stopped being relevant about 1.5 - 2 years ago. Like honestly, they bring absolutely nothing to the table at the moment.

Oh, so the article I read was wrong then

And yeah...I think they stopped doing anything for EDM after Danny Howells' Miami release. After that, it became the Nick Warren/Deep Dish show.

Posted by Adam420 on Jun-23-2009 01:19:

I actually disagree. the Nick Warren Paris comp was really, really nice IMO. And I actually enjoyed his Lima CD quite a bit. Other than that though really nothing.

Posted by woscar on Jun-23-2009 01:26:

I didn't say they didn't release anything good, just not relevant

Layo & Bushwacka!'s release was also quite good.

Unrelated, but the worst transition I've ever heard on a mixed compilation is the transition from "Non Verbal Language" to "One Thing" on the second disc of Paris. Seriously, what the fuck was that?

lol Oscar maybe it's been a while? I just listened again and thought it was especially well executed. I agree on this CD the mixing is a tad loose, but it fits with the style of the music IMO.

My bad, lol. I meant to say the one into "Neptune". It's like "hit stop on deck A and hit play on deck B"

You musn't be very familiar with Nick Warren then. He pulls these on occasion but he can equally create some of the most fluid transitions known to man.

Also, "relevance" is definitely perception-based. It could just as easily relate to what just so happens to be "trendy" at the moment.
