darwinism at work

Cops: Woman who claimed to be crime victim is burglary suspect

Woman burglarized several places and left her pocketbook behind in one instance. Tells the cops her pocket book was stolen

Back to working hard or hardly working

how is this an example of natural selection?

by going to jail, not death if you meant that.

this is not an example of darwinism at work. More of karma, if you believe in it.

ok so let me get this straight

My conclusion is

#1 it is not karma. Karma would be robbing someone and then you get robbed by someone else. By calling cops lying to them is just not thinking right.

#2 is this is more like survival of the fittest(Darwinism) in a sense of not strength but knowledge. This is how these people manage to end up in jail or killed due to their incompetence weeding them out of society(Gene pool)

Reference: Wikipedia but this is not a true source learned that in college

you don't need to get robbed in order to pay for robbing. the price as in most societies, is going to jail. And that's where she's heading. So karma is working hard in this case.

Unless she dies in jail or gets a life sentence, neither of which seem likely, this cannot be Darwinism at work. Now what if she already has children ? This seems likely, given her age. What if she doesn't want children ? She has reproduced / or not (by choice, in which case going to jail is irrelevant) and she has survived. What's more, she doesn't even have to earn her food (needed for survival) in jail.

Besides, she may come out after say 10 years and go on to commit more robberies if she wishes. But she has paid the price for her previous robberies through karma.

Karma: the effects of a person's actions that determine his destiny in his next incarnation

The woman action of calling the cops removes the karma out of the situation and adds in the survival of the fittest or maybe I should says natural selection!!!!!

good thing my boss is not here atm. Gives me time to rant and rave about this for now...

The final word or maybe not is...criminals who are this stupid will usual end up away from society i.e jail. So by this person giving them self up is a sure bet of how the strong/smart avoid this and weak/dumb don't. Take a trip to the Galapagos islands you'll see

Only partly correct, atleast from Hinduism's perspective.

"Karma" literally means "deed" or "act", and more broadly names the universal principle of cause and effect, action and reaction, which Hindus believe governs all consciousness. [4], Karma is not fate, for man acts with free will creating his own destiny. The Vedas tell us that if we sow goodness, we will reap goodness; if we sow evil, we will reap evil. Karma refers to the totality of our actions and their concomitant reactions in this and previous lives, all of which determine our future.

the darwinism joke about humans is that they get weeded out of society for doing stupid things

This article just means that the lady is going to jail. she comes out she'll probably do the same shit again. Her genes are not lost and she is capable of reproducing.

to be fair i sort of see where you were comming from.

The idea of someone doing something stupid dying analogous to someone doing something stupid and paying a price for it.

where one price is jail and the other is death.

anyways whatever

shit you just called me a noob lol

well let me put it to you this way. natural selection favours us because we're still around on TA

hows that for analogy

They say onlyyy.. onlyyy... only the fittest of the fittest shall survive.. stay alive. Could you be looooved.. and in love.

Would've been Darwinism if her stupidity had made her incapable of mating; thereby removing her stupid genes from the genepool.

um, dude...if you left something at a crime scene that could be traced back to you, this is exactly what you would have to do.

There was a story here a little while ago of a guy who rang the cops because he thought someone had tried to break into his grow house.
