Anyone got a Jazzmutant Lemur

http://www.jazzmutant.com/lemur_overview.php

I've been looking at these and they look really cool but cost a bit. I know Deadmau5 has one and Eddie Haliwell is using them for his ED:it shows at Creamfields and the like.

Just wondering if anyone has one and reckon its worth the money?

I got to play with those a few times and for sure it's great. Only if you want some piece of gear to stand out. If it's for home use, there are cheaper ways to have exactly the same thing. It's called an ipod touch plus a few apps from the itunes store.

True it is exactly the same technology as the iphone and ipod touch. It does look pretty cool.

I'm considering a multi-touch screen to use when max 4 live comes out as it'll be a cheaper alternative.

i need physical feedback from whatever piece of equipment i'm using, i personally dislike touchscreen phones for that reason. joris voorn uses one though i think

wish i could afford one, entered the depeche mode beatport remix comp a month or so ago to try and win one, mostly because i don't think i'll ever be able to justify the expense for something that, at the end of the day, is mostly show and fun...

i'm sure there are a million other midi controllers that could do the same for less $...

tell us if you get one though very interested for some first-hand feedback

That's the one thing I am a bit unsure about, it's capable of so much, but you need to know how to encode it. But I currently haven't had any experience with that, how hard is it to learn? Is it time consuming? A general ball ache?

i don't blame them, they can't compete with dell/acer/apple etc all moving into that market full steam ahead. what i HOPE they do is work on the software side of things, imo that's untapped (pun!) for our side still and could def be a new revenue stream

i'm happy, cause now they're giving the dexter firmware away for free!
