The Mastery of Love by Don Miguel Ruiz.

One of the most important things he talks about is how people go into relationships expecting the other person to "fix" or "complete" them... whether they're aware of it or not. Relationships based off of this are very parasitic. Real love isn't love for another person, it's sharing the love of life with another person. If you need someone else to be happy, you are not in the position to be in a relationship. Highly recommend that book (audio cd) if you ever plan on being in a serious relationship.
