Anyone here remotely close to Dayton?
EDM night on Wednesdays at Club Vex (formerly The Pearl), starting tomorrow. I'm helping kick them off.
I know I'm pretty much by myself out here, but if you're in the area, would love to have a drink with ya.

Hey David,
I'm up in Findlay which is about an hour and a half north of Dayton, so it's relatively close. Wednesdays would be kinda hard for me to get down your way, but if some events are going on during the weekends I'd be up for it.
Will definitely keep that in mind. Working on trying to get stuff going, I'll keep you posted

I'm playing at a nice classy little place called Side Bar this Friday. I'm playing 10 - 1 (last time I played I ended up going longer).
130 W 2nd St, Dayton, OH
Nice place, they squeeze their own juice for cocktails, etc. I play deep house/chill out/jazzy stuff there.
deep house in Dayton, OH... what will they think of next!

| Originally posted by david.michael Yeah, this is just about the only venue around here I can pull this type of set off in, lol. Usually it's electro house/breaks/DnB if you manage to break away from a Top40/Hip Hop or country bar. I'm workin' on it though, dammit. |
What, you're not into the whole Bmore Club sound? Chopping up raps and Spongebob clips into staccato house tracks isn't your bag?

I can't ever find deep/tech on the weekends here either, which is why I've been working my way into this Side Bar place. I played there once before (for a benefit show) and absolutely nailed it. They loved the sound (a mixture of deep house type sounds and more 90bpm chill-out/breaks, with lots of vocals and real instruments... things like that) and wanted me to come back.
They seem to want me to play fairly regularly there, which would be amazing. I love being able to play like that and not have someone ask if I can play summa' dat T-pain.
Playing at Club Vex tonight from 9 - 12.
