That Seth Troxler set is nice.

Back to the release...liking most of the samples. Impressed by the sound quality and the ride on this album.

Around the Angel
Tahktok
Toulgaris
Love Harmonic
Le Monlogue De d'orfeu

The sound quality really stood out to me as well. Very lush, crisp music.

still rocking out to 'Liah' on a regular basis

Mirko Loko makes fucking great music

If you guys like Mirko Loko's album, might also want to check the new Bodycode album 'Immune' on Spectral Sound. It also has a good recording, a bit drier, and has more abstractly quantized melodies and arrangements than Mirko Loko's album, but enjoyable as well. They could be enjoyed one after the other. Or randomly assorted mix of the two for a listening session.

Picked up a few cuts from that album as well, Bodycode has a very unique sound to him. I dig.

"Le Monlogue De d'orfeu"

Fucking amazing...next level dance music. The work he did on the vocal is ridiculous.

I had the weirdest dream that one of the tracks on this album was played on Power 106

P-P-Power 106 turning into pure Trance station confirmed?

Out with Crunk shiet in with the Unicorn shiet. Mmmtizzz Mmmtizzz tracks with "we got the candyYyyyYyyyy on the block, we got the candyyyyyYyy on the block, with my shotgun cocked and iciest beads on lock, breezies with gogo boots around my neck gleamin, I got flows like light shows, bustin on hoes that trip wrong, showing me their peace thong, as I reminisce on my days of glowsticks and alien head tricks"

Power 106 used to be pretty bomb in the mid to late 90s. They'd have a retro show in the afternoon from about noon - 2pm that was all 80s hiphop, electro, aquanet stuff. On Friday or Saturday night they'd have Powertools, which at the time was a pretty cool mix show. Not like now, it's garbage.

I hate the radio

My favorite track as well, I also like the one right before it (Tahktok).

I like this release.

boners

haven't heard this, but mirko is a good producer, in my opinion...

lazy fat people ftw

Gives nothing to me. Love Harmonic goes nowhere. With some more bass this tune might work better. Around The Angel sounds absolutely horrible. How crappy can vocals be; I prefer every unicorn vocal trancer over this. Cadenza on the downpoint with this. But on the other hand they had La Mezcla and Arcenciel this year, so I forgive them.

Le Monologue d'Orfeu
Altrove
You Know Where

All mint.

Not all tracks are made to be peak-time stormers mate

Interesting that you feel that 'Love Harmonic' goes nowhere and then mention 'Arcenciel' as an example of a track that you do like, since both are tracks that stay the same pretty much during their entire length.

It's an incredibly well made album but I think this sound is getting old - the chants, the kids singing, etc. A couple of the songs sample the Le Mystere des voix Bulgares, which has been done many times before.

Sounds very Luciano'ey

Posted by Stasis on Jul-14-2009 03:33:

Love Harmonic doesn't sound like anything new, but it still sounds great to me. I don't know if it's the beatport sample or just me missing something, but Le Monologue d'Orfeu isn't doing anything for me. Too um...minimal? Plus it's scary.

Decent but nothing extraordinary aprt maybe from the clarity of the sound, it just sounds old and a little generic.
